Check the power supply.If you have no output from the power supply try to disconnect the power supply from the other circuits ( such as the IF,audio,video,horizontal,vertical,etc.If the voltage at the power supply comes up when you disconnect a particular circuit then that circuit is loading down the power supply and you would troubleshoot that circuit.If after disconnecting the other circuits and the power supply still shows zero,then you would troubleshoot the power supply.

There are 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits supplied to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The first ignition circuit is provided by the powertrain relay, through a fuse. This ignition 1 voltage circuit supplies power to all the internal ECM circuits associated with the throttle actuator control (TAC) operation. The second ignition 1 voltage circuit is supplied by the run/crank relay through a fuse, and is used to power the remaining internal ECM circuits. You will need to add transformer and rectifier diodes before this circuit to be able to get the voltage you need.

Power comes on for two seconds then goes off. Trouble code is 21. Is this worth fixing?


The X-Ray Protect circuit monitors:
* Excessive High Voltage
* Excess CRT Beam Current
* Excess HV Circuit Current

The X-Ray line is normally High. If any of the monitored sources exceeds its' specific reference, the X-Ray line is pulled Low, shutting Off the TV. If X-Ray protect shuts the TV Off, pressing the Power button will turn the TV back On ( it will shut Off again if the problem still exist).

Possible Problems: Power Supply Fault, Sweep Circuit Problem, Doubler Board Fault or a leaking CRT. You may have bad capacitors in the power supply or the sweep power supply.

Check for CRT leaking, few drops of clear light oil. If this is leaking the fix is costly and not worth fixing.
Inspect for puffy capacitors on the power supply and sweep circuit boards, if you can solder replacing capacitors is cheap, middle pricing for replacing power supply or circuit boards.

The power supply circuit inside the tv may be bad. Normally a bad capacitor is the culprit. You may visually inspect the circuit (the first circuit connected to the power chord inside) for leaks or swollen capacitor. The entire power supply circuit may have gone bad. Test if there is power coming out of the circuit to verify.

My power supply had ashort circuit smell burnd,


This power supply is a standard power supply that will handle 200 plus watts.
It can be replaced with just about any ATX supply and really would be a waist of time trying to trouble shoot it.
Any 24 Pin ATX supply will work just fine in its place.

Blinking red light no picture or sound


Either the power supply has failed, or a component such as one of the backlight inverter boards has failed. The blinking light is the TV's protection circuit which will not apply full-power to the system unless no obvious short-circuits or open-circuits are found. Some TVs do this test when the power-cord is plugged into the wall. Philips has a bad reputation with respect to power supplies, so the power-supply board is the most likely culprit. The failure in these power supplies tend to be bad capacitors.

Two, there is the liability issue. Take for example that I design the requested circuit, give it to you freely, and you or someone in your group is injured using my circuit.

Power supply


A crowbar or crowbar circuit is an electrical circuit used to prevent an overvoltage condition of a power supply unit from damaging the circuits attached to the power supply. It operates by putting a short circuit across the voltage source, much as if one dropped a tool of the same name across the output terminals of the power supply. Crowbar circuits are frequently implemented using a thyristor (also called an SCR) or a trisil or thyratron as the shorting device. Once triggered, they depend on the current-limiting circuitry of the power supply or, if that fails, the blowing of the line fuse or circuit breaker.
A crowbar circuit is distinct from a clamp in that, once triggered, it pulls the voltage below the trigger level, usually close to ground. A clamp prevents the voltage from exceeding a preset level. Thus, a crowbar will not automatically return to normal operation when the overvoltage condition is removed; power must be removed entirely to stop its conduction.
The advantage of a crowbar over a clamp is that the low holding voltage of the crowbar lets it carry higher fault current without dissipating much power (which could otherwise cause overheating). Also, a crowbar is more likely than a clamp to deactivate a device (by blowing a fuse or tripping a breaker), bringing attention to the faulty equipment.


The power supply is bad. I would not try to fix it.
