The control pad only works on a few numbers.

Check to see if there is a ribbon cable between the touch pad and the circuit board. If there is, clean both ends with electronic contact cleaner, and re-connect.

If that doesn't fix it, you may have a bad touch pad.

My MMV5165BAW displays *** with micro, AM/PM, help..etc under each x. Display flashes this msg. Touch pad will not work, but when it displays to set the clock, touch pad will work. After setting clock

There may be grease or moisture on the the control circuit board, especially in the are where the keypad strip plugs into the board.

Or there may be a pad stuck on th keypad.

See the owner's manual here in case that might help you.

Otherwise, the controller assembly may need repair, which is usually economical.

Touch pad

microwaves are really not cost efficient to repair. It's cheaper to buy a new one. Sears has comparable to your model starting at $70, walmart $60. :)

Touch pad inoperaive on one side

about the only thing you could do is to replace the touch pad there are no repairs done to touch pads we basically just install a new one i suppose one could take one apart and try to fix it but there are no schematics that they give to the touch pad make sure before ordering a new touch pad that it is the touch pad and not the control board that has malfunctioned if you are unable to perform these tests please call a repair technician if you have any further questions please message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation Thanks again

The touch panel pad of my microwave, model Combi, needs replacement. Pl. tell me its cost and the place nearest to Noida where i can get it. Thank you.

the cost for a new touch panel is around $80 fitted as i live in australia im not sure of the closest repairer to you but any good electronics repair shop who deal with microwaves can help you look in your local phone directory

p.s the only time we replace touch panels are when they are worn out if the buttons are not responding then the problem is not the touch pad this is a repaly problem but is cheaper to repair have them check as to the correct fault before asking to have the panel replaced

best of luck to you.. please rate this repair thank you
