Lot's of possibilities, Either your laptop has Virus, or the processor over heating, means it will probably need to di-assemble and replaced heating compound.. called thermal paste..

Why does my laptop keep shutting down unexpectedly?

This is likely due to overheating. Use some canned air and blow out the cooling fans and heat sinks on the bottom and back of the computer. In worse case scenario you will need to take it to a repair shop and have them open the case and clean out the blockage and perhaps re-grease the CPU heatsink.

Asus k52f keeps shutting down randomly

I have seen the odd case where the power supply cannot keep up with the demands when the laptop is running causing it to shut down, but first! remove the main battery to see if that helps, no change! I recommend replacing the power supply adapter in hopes it will correct the problem. Go to www.ebay.com Type make and model of laptop, refine search to power supply and go through the list of prices.

Windows keeps shutting down unexpectedly

Your computer is overheating, it is shutting itself down to prevent damage to the internal components.

Your computer should be serviced by a computer technician. He/she will clean the components and chassis of dust. This will increase airflow over the components, meaning your system will be stable and will not shut down unexpectedly.

Take care!

MY COMPUTER SHUTDOWN WHILE IT HAS A 60%REMAINING BATTERY. UNEXPECTED SHUTDOWN. MY LAPTOP CANT RESUME THE PROGRAMS RUNNING AND UNSAVED DOCUMENTS AFTER THE UNEXPECTED SHUTDOWN HAPPENS ..WHY MY OTHER LAPTOP...

If the Computer restarts randomly, then the issue might be due to any damaged Operating System Files.
But, if the Computer shuts down randomly, it is due to the Processor.
All the Processors will be designed in such a way that, if there is any overheating issues, the Computer will shut down randomly.
The overheating might occur due to the malfunction of the Cooling Fan in the Computer.
As this is a overheating issue, it would be better to get the Unit examined at the Service Center.
Replacing the Cooling Fan in the Computer should resolve the issue.

Shuts off (not down) unexpectedly and randomly.

There are many things that cause this issue. On a laptop its often over heating from dust that collects around the cpu fan. This will not be a novice users ideal job. You can take it to the shop to have the laptop tore down and clean correctly or chance damaging it further by trying it yourself. Another thing that causes premature shut down is a program or new driver installed about the same time you noticed the issue. A corrupted execution file will cause this often likely a video driver. Look closely at your exhaust slots where the hot air blow out and looks for dust bunnies.

Dell xps m1330, turns off unexpectedly. i have changed setting in control panel for battery options to turn off never if it is plugged in. it still shuts off randomly.

It could be overheating, and then shutting itself down, to prevent damage.

Restart, and enter SETUP mode, and choose the "System Health Info" setting, to find the internal temperatures.

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the battery.
Buy a can of compressed air.
Follow the directions to keep the can "vertical",
and give a "blow-job" of compressed air into every port and access-door that you can find on the laptop.

You could be surprised at how much "dust" (and dog-hair) that the blow-job removes.

Laptop randomly shuts down

This problem might be occur due to old BIOS version installed on the laptop.
If your system shut down unexpectedly within 10-20 minutes while playing games or scanning the system which takes high cpu usages then the problem is of BIOS and try to install the new BIOS version.
for that visit the site of your laptop company.

Have you cleaned out the airvents and fan area. these build up with dust and if the unit gets too hot it will shut down unexpected

Also always use on a hard surface so the airvents are kept clear
