My wii freezes in-game and won't respond at all

It all happened when i played tennis for over an hour and it suddenly stopped. It emmited a low pitched sound. Now it happens every 30 mins of play and does the same thing all the time there is no way of unfreezing it as the off button wont respond neither will any other of the buttons. The wii controller says it is still connected. The only way to switch it off is by unplugging it. If i switch it on a minute later it takes about 3-5 mins to freeze again but if i leave it longer than an hour it will only stop at round about 30 mins. help.

Re: My wii freezes in-game and won't respond at all

It almost sounds like the Wii is overheating. Make sure the unit is in a well ventilated area and that it isn't dusty (some canned air will help with that.) Also, change the orientation of the system. i.e. if it is on it's side, lay it down flat, if it is flat put it on its side.

Nintendo Wii is not responding to a certain wii game of mine.

First of all, go to the options and do a firmware update. Your Wii must be connected to the internet for this to happen. Next, check the disk for any scratches or other things that may obstruct the laser from reading the disc. If none of those solutions work, then chances are that game in particular is buggy. You may want to check their website.

Wii is playing all games on auto

For Shrek I don't know, but for Wii tenis, I know that you can set the players to be cpu or player conrolled. I guess your daughter has set all of them to be controlled by the cpu. I think when you're setting up a game in wii tennis and you see all the players standing on the court (still in the menu screen) check to see if it says player or CPU.

Good luck.

Wii suddenly freezes during play?

You should make sure your disks are not scratched. To turn the wii off (without unplugging and all that).....Just hold the power button for a while on the counsle until it shuts off. Just out of curiousity.......and maybe a thing.........because this happened to froze because i entered a cheat and skipped to much in the game, but when i went back and did it the real way, it didn't freeze.

My Wii sometimes freezes.

If it just does it for that game at that point, he game might be defective or have a scratch or something... Generally though, to prevent the Wii from freezing up, make sure it has plenty of airflow and its fans aren't covered up. Even still, if you play it for a very long period of time it can overheat and freeze.
