Usually the grain is from the Film Speed Setting. Try using ISO 200 film speed.

Dear sir my sony dsc p200 do not show any image...it is black. it works, takes pictures but the lcd is always black and if I set to show the picture it is black. What do you think? Regards Lima

Possible that the display is faulty, and it will be needed to check inside the camera for working voltage,so i would advise that you contact sony service for estimation and spares.

Pictures are too dark or too bright with Sony DSC-P200 Camera

U have an electronics issue with the circuitry controlling the light levels reaching inside. Have you tried using manual settings? Repair on those units is expensive and it may bot be a cost effective repair situation.

Grainy pictures at night

Hi

Low light without a flash will always cause grainy pictures unless you have a very high end camera that can shoot at very high ISO speeds like 6400 and up.

Try changing the camera from the green camera 'auto' setting to "P" and then press the Menu button (I think it's Menu) and look for the different mode settings. There should be one for Night or Night Portrait or similar, I can't recall Sony terms and I don't have one here to check sorry.

Your other option is to use the flash, try it with Red Eye turned on if possible.

Hope this helps.

Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 worked great then the lens stuck in the open position.
Read on this site some one suggested gently manipulating the lens and tapping it then turning it on. It worked!!

Yes there is. You need to change the picture quality from being high exposure to normal exposure. This will decrease the size of the photo.

CCD sensor is outputting noise and has to be replaced. Sony should repair free of charge even if your camera is out of guarantee.
