Where to find brake cables for a huffy bike with serial number 24513 ?

The serial number has nothing to do with the type of brake cable your bike uses. In most cases they are the standard brake cables with the dot end. A way to see what is needed is to take a cable off the brake handle. There are 2 major kinds. A barrel end and a dot end. Some packages come with both ends on a cable, just cut the end you don't need off and install the new cable. These are a bit more than the single end cable. A single end cable can be purchased at any bike shop, on the internet, at ebay for instance. Even Walmart is carrying them now. I would take your old cable into the local bike shop, the clerk or service person can assist you in finding the right cable

I changed the shoes and brake cables from the mazda protege 1999 and does not work properly. The front cable is set to the maximum adjustment and when I pull the brake lever the brakes do not brake...

Hi Luigi, Re check to ensure your shoes are properly installed Also you need to manually adjust the shoes so when you turn your tire you should hear a slight drag of the shoes on the inner drum. If you have too much play, your cable will be out of limit even if its set to maximum adjustment. If you had previously manually adjusted the shoes then double check to see if that is the proper cables you purchase for the vehicle and make sure it is not binding.

Emergency brake cable installation

Purchase a Haynes repair manual for your vehicle. It should have step by step instructions with pictures showing how to replace a park brake cable.

Good luck, I hope this helps!

How to release tension on parking brake cable to remove from rear caliper - 2008 Ford Taurus X

you should'nt have any tension on the parking brake, unless it's on. check the parking brake to insure that it's in the off position. chock" the rear wheels,to make sure the car does'nt roll while you're jacking it up and "always use jackstands,do not trust your jack" does your brake caliper piston have a + on it?it will be on the brake caliper piston itself, if so,then you need to back the brake caliper piston back in by turning it counterclockwise, auto parts stores sell a special tool to back the brake calipers back into place, i've always used a straight screwdriver,to turn the piston counterclockwise some do turn clockwise though to retract the brake piston. a simple call to the auto parts store where you're purchasing the brakes will tell you which way the piston will need to be retracted.other wise,it's a simple brake replacement, just push the brake caliper cylinder with a "C" clamp to retract the brake caliper, also,if you are replacing brake rotors, purchase the brake kleen to spray on the new brake rotors when you replace those.they have a clear film on them, you'll need to remove that film to insure no future issues with the brake rotors.simply spray the front and back of the brake rotors with this spray to remove the protective "film"and as always, thank you,for choosing!

I have a 24" bicycle

Are you able to adjust the spring tension on the brake arms? It sounds like there it too much friction in the cable, try lubricating the cable.

We just purchased a 2003 745Li BMW. My wife pushed the parking brake button and now it won't release

The parking brake cable is probably frozen by dirt or corrosion (too much friction for the brake return spring to overcome). Try injecting Liquid Wrench or a spray lubricant into the cable housing(s) underneath the car, then pulling on the cable by hand. If you get it loose, clean up the part of the cable that goes into the housing, or any part that slides on another, and coat with a thin film of grease. Engage and disengage the parking brake several times to make sure it works smoothly.

If you can't get the cable to work freely, you may have to replace it.

I have purchased a Cyclops Stone Mountain bike and I don't have a manual. I am wanting to know how to adjust the front brakes as one of them is rubbing up against the wheel which is making the wheel hard...

There are adjustment screws just above the brake calipers where the cable ends . You can adjust the barrel screw that the cable passes thru. Turn the screw clockwise, which should allow more slack and allow the brake to lessen it's grip...
If that doesn't do the trick, you can loosen the clamping nut on the cable and let the caliper open up a little then retighten. take your time and be careful to make sure the brakes are working correctly before you ride..

Emergency Brake Cable Is Broken

Somewhat easy to replace. The part is a dealer item (purchase only from Chevrolet dealer) If you are going to do this yourself, take many photos on the progression of the job to refer back to when putting it back together. Good Luck!
