Question about LG 42LS349C 42" 1080p LED-LCD TV - 16:9 - HDTV 1080p
When I first plug in the tv, everything is fine. After I turn it off it will not come back on unless I unplug it for about five minutes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: LG 42LC2D WILL NOT STAY ON
I have been rebutted on answering this type of problem from years of personal technical experience, from a guest, no less.
Due to that, my rank fell from guru to wiz.
So, firstly, check to see that the power button on tv itself is NOT being stuck ON or OFF by the cabinet.

Sounds like you have a bad power supply board! This is not hard to do yourself, as long as you are somewhat handy! Take the case apart (back side), and look for some bad caps (capacitors) on the power supply board. They will look bulged on the top an may be a little leaky (brownish stain).
If you see this problem, you can buy a new power supply at www.shopjimmy.com or ebay. You will need the make and model, of your tv to order! Good luck, I hope this is helpful!!

You popped the plasma HV generator. Do you use a UPC all the time, if not then power line surges or brownouts can cause this type of problem. Needs Pro shop repair, expect around 450.00. PS: buy a upc for around 10 minutes run time $80.00 ??

Probably requires a replacement power supply, try swapping for another power cord if they are modular, if not, contact LG support and they will set you up with a part, and an authorized tech to come to your home and install it.

You may have dying power supply or backlight inverter board, those are the two areas you need to check.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:
