Question about Casablanca Fan S3 93045

Casablanca Ceiling Fan Stays On

Recently my fan stays on even if I push the off button on my Versa Touch remote. If I take out the battery and leave it out for a while when I put it back it will turn off when pushing the off button on the versa. Any ideas how to fix this issue. In addition the fan works but there is no difference between med and high speeds, not sure if this is all related. Thanks. Paul

When the fan will not shut off it makes a weird sound like a cracking or humming sound. Normally this is not an issue and only make this sound when it will not shutoff.

All went well, the coil did not need to be connected to as it is either in the new receiver or not required. Black and white connected to black and now the fan shuts off; works on all speeds and the light works correctly. Thanks for helping out this non-handy man.

So ordered a replacement/upgrade kit from Casablanca directly. Total cost was $136.00 and changes including shipping to southern Ontario address. Not too bad seeing the fan originally cost $900. Being plug and play easy install for a novice like myself. thanks for all the help, much appreciated.

Testimonial: "I will try putting in a universal receiver, there is a kit at my local hardware store that comes with a remote also for $40. Its a smaller receiver so it should fit no problems. Thanks for the advice David. I will post back with the results."

SOURCE: Casablanca fan speed problem

If this fan has a pullchain that also controls the fan speed, and you have a remote, the pullchain has to be set for the highest speed. If it is set at medium or low, it will mess with the remote operation. Note: usually high speed is the first pull after the "off" position.

SOURCE: Casablanca fan only runs at highest speed

When I turn on any of the fan speeds fan does not come on. When I remove the blades and turn on the ceiling fan on and give it a push the fan stays running. What could it be?

I have a Casablanca "trident"

Hello Duke,

I'm guessing you have a "prime touch" remote control system. I'm not exactly sure whats going on but the W-505 Prime Touch receiver in the fan is the brains of the system. They sell replacement W-505 parts at Fan Man Lighting.

Hope this helps.

How do you program a casablanca fan remote control to work for the fan?

Howdy,

Casablanca control systems are specific, for instance Inteli-Touch (4 button wall control with power fan light and reverse buttons) uses power line signals to a computer board inside the fan's motor housing and a remote control using RF will not work. However, you do not state what control you have, or what specific control you wish to attempt to use with the fan. Some will work some, will not.

Thanks and Reply so I can better help you!

Ceiling fan stuck on high

The Inteli-Touch system does have a slight learning curve.

How the system works is. You turn the power switch on, and leave it on, all the time. To set fan speed, you press and HOLD the fan button and it will go. . beeeep. beeeeeeeeep. beeeeeeeeeeeeeep. beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep (higher pitched) when you reach your desired speed you let go of the fan button and it stays on that speed. So if you want to go to speed 4 you wait for the fourth beep and let the button go. To turn off the fan, press and release the fan button, to turn it back on to speed 4, press and release again. It has a memory. If you want to go to a higher speed while on speed 4 (or any other speed) just press and hold. To slow down the fan, you must turn the fan off by pressing and releasing the fan button, then pressing and holding until you get to the speed your desire.

The instructions which came with the fan should explain the rest. After you get used to using the IT control system, you will love it. I do. I have two Casablanca IT Victorian II fans in my living room. They are featured in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pv55wZqohs

Remote control doesn't work. Small red light stays lit.

First check the remote control with a similar TV.

By keeping a MW radio receiver you can check the functioning of the remote by pressing the keys. Radio will give garble sound!

If remote is OK , TV has to be checked.

Our casablanca ceiling fan has power going to the fan and the remote works but the fan does not nor does the light

If you have the intelitouch system, It's probably the circuit board in the fan. Casablanca has great motors but touchy boards. I ordered mine from www.fanmanlighting.com and installed it myself, it wasn't too difficult. Hope this helps
