Look if you can get a switch that works, is safe, & you can get it attached to the broken board & the broken board itself doesn't stop it alone, then yes I see no reason why not?

I have a Fisher & Paykel GW609AU Smartdrive Excellence 6.5 Washing Machine that would start then stop then start then stop a few more times before eventually beeping.
I fixed it by bypassing(joined the white and yellow wire) the trip out switch which is located under the control module(one screw to remove). Now it Works.

usually when this happens, the extra current drawn to Burn the PCB traces, usually ends up damaging other IC;s and thing too.I would expect, that whatever caused that to happen, did you find and fix the actual cause? Or did you just replace the bad board? As if you simply replaced , then the existing problem may still exist, unless it was that board and nothing else. In any event, the Spikes, & Surges produced when things Arc, & Burn, electrically, well these can damage or even destroy the delicate IC's. I think that this is what has happened here. I am sure that a new controller board will fix your problem. please ensure ALL sensors are tested and prove OK. Please check ALL power levels on the Power Supply, as if these are not correct nothing else can be.
These links above are just great for the Home Fixer invaluable have a look, you will be pleased.

Most likely something stuck in the pump, you need to look underneath to get to it, the pump turns anti clockwise to remove it.
