Question about Princeton Digital LCD1510 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Princeton Monitor blackout

My monitor suddenly just blacks out and "No Signal input" appears in red. Sometimes jiggling the monitor will restore it, but lately, that hasn't worked. Is it time for a new monitor? I've checked all connections and they appear sound. Thanks.

Ahhh..Good point. I just checked the snugness of everything to ensure they were securely fastened. The problem is intermittent, but your suggestion on an alternative monitor when the problem occurs is an excellent one. Thanks so very much.

How do i get my thinkvison to get out of power saving mode

I do not know how many Thinkvision models are out there, but here is a site that offers manuals you can read online or download.
This is just a page from the manual I found. Here is a link to the manual I found. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/91948/Lenovo-Thinkvision-E54.html#manual
THIS MONITOR WILL APPEAR TO BE NON-FUNCTIONAL IF
THERE IS NO VIDEO INPUT SIGNAL. IN ORDER FOR THIS
MONITOR TO OPERATE PROPERLY, THERE MUST BE A VIDEO
INPUT SIGNAL.
This feature is designed to conserve electrical energy by reducing power
consumption when there is no video input signal present.when there is no
video input signal present. When there is no video input signal, this monitor,
following a time-out period, will automatically switch to an OFF mode. And the
LED will turn orange. This reduces the monitor's internal power supply
consumption. After the video input signal is restored, full power is restored
and the display is automatically redrawn. The appearance is similar to a
"Screen Saver" feature except the display is completely off. The display is
restored by pressing a key on the keyboard, or clicking the mouse. Lenovo ThinkVision E54 User Manual

* I've you have mutiple interfaces like HDMI & VGA, try switching between these until you get a signal :D
This can be performed by using the build-in options menu.

Princeton vl 1918 monitor on screen it says check cable no signal. how do you obtain signal?

You need to verify to find out if it is the monitor is bad or the PC is not sending the video signal to the monitor. Try another monitor with the PC, if you still have the problem then you need to fix the PC, if it works OK then it is the monitor problem.

"no signal"

"no signal" means that the monitor is not receiving a video signal from your computer or laptop. This is normal if the compouter is OFF and the monitor is ON. Is the computer still on and connected to the monitor?

Black out problem

Try a different known working monitor and hook it up to the computer. Turn on the computer and the monitor and see if you can get video. If you get video then you know the original monitor is bad.

If with the known good working monitor you still don't get video then you know its something either with the video card or the motherboard if you have integrated video.

Sounds like the monitor took a power surge. Monitor is probably bad but try hooking up the power to the monitor on a different power outlet and see if it turns on, if not then the monitor is bad and would need to be replaced.

No volume

Hello,
Being a person with some experience repairing Princeton Monitors... 776 so far.
If you have not had volume from the monitor right out of the box It would appear the speaker connector was not install or fell off due to poor installation at the factory.
Princeton Monitors have a lot of problems. when they work, they work well.
They are known for their very bad capacitors in the inverterboards.
If the unit runs but you have no green light and no picture Your Caps are toast.
As for your speakers, remove the front bezzel and look for the twisted wires usually black and red with a small white connector. If you find it just danggling, the connector it should go into is on the right lower side of the monitor's screen. It's keyed so installing it only one way will make it work.
Hope this helps.
