You probably have a damaged mic cord. These are not overly rugged. You might want to replace the mic cable with a quality Beldon mic cable.

PR20 mic has three colored cables inside.. red black and yellow. the yellow has lost its solder. despite this it still works. what does the yellow cable do, and which prong inside should i re-solder it to?

Two of the wires are signal (1 is + the other is -). The third wire is ground. The two signal wires will go to either side of the mic diaphragm. (looks like a miniature speaker). The ground wire will usually go to the mic body. The colors could be proprietary to Heil so I'm not sure what they are based solely on color. If it's an "active" mic with an internal circuit board then there is no telling.

Typically the red and yellow would be the signal wires, the black would be the ground, however, as previously stated, this can not be guaranteed if Heil uses a proprietary setup.

The mic on my netbook works sometimes as I move the screen forward, how can I repair it? thanks

You probably have a bad cable going from your motherboard to your screen. The hard part is figuring out which cable that might be. Could be a power cable, or audio cable. If your able to, take the laptop apart and see if any wires look messed up.

How many rca wires do i need what kind of mic and will it work off a soundblaster external soundcard and if possible i'd like to have a drawing to show what goes where

We have no way to enter drawings on FIXYA.

Figure 3.1 in your user manual has everything you need to know.

You would need 4 cables with RCA plugs at the 1202 end and whatever your soundblaster interface takes at its end to handle STEREO signals to and from the unit.

Almost any type of mic will work, and the choice of mic depends on what you are using it for and how much you have budgeted for. If you are in a studio without monitor, then one typically uses condenser mics AND for those you turn on the "phantom" power on this mixer. If you have speakers tied to this or where the mic can "hear" the speakers you likely cannot use condenser mics as they will cause feedback.

Countyman E6 "crackels".

Replacement caps are available from countryman directly. The noise is usually indicative of a cable problem. Check the wires where they enter the capsude and at the connector end as well. I believe that countryman has a "refurb" rpogram where they will replace the cable for a nominal fee (much less than a replacement). Caution should be used when storing the mics such that the cables don't get tangled or crimped.

Mic is popping

It sounds to me like you have a short in the cable. Power up unit like normal and move the wires at each end of the cable, mic end and connector end, being careful not to move the mic. If you hear popping it's a bad cable. If not, now gently shake the mic, does it pop, then it's your mic's capsule and needs replacement.

Cable conexion is broken

I removed the cable from microphone circuit board  and shortened cable by 20 cm. to eliminate damaged wires, stripped the individual wires and soldered the pins to the new wire ends and reassembled.  Used black heat shrink tubing  [10mm dia.] to reinforce cable end at mic to prevent future damage from careless handling.

Document wire colours to pins before disassembly

Mic don't work

I replaced this unit with another one I got on Ebay (different brand). Had the same problem! So I figured I was doing something wrong and I was. Eventually I disconnected the digital coax (which I was using for top quality) and just used regular A/V leads. Apparently digital coax can't take the Karaoke music AND the mic audio across to the receiver at the same time. Everything works now. Hope that helps you.
