Replace but something is to measure where the motor sucks on the start up bad armature bearings or is there a centrifugal cludge for startup inside thats not good timed or worn or its only because the capacitor is to old..

The AC makes a humming sound when starting the fan. If I spin it by hand it runs. Model 620315.321 serial 90716722.

The humming sound is the motor trying to start, if you turn it by hand, usually they will run. it sounds like the motor for fan needs cleaning and oiling. God-Bless ya all!

Professional Series water jet pump is just making a humming sound.Has the motor blown

probably not
if it was blown it would be tripping circuit breakers and not making a sound
I would be checking/replacing the start /run capacitor for the motor

Found start capasitor bad.Have ordered two cap. of like (250vac 150uf) and both have gotton hot & blown after about two minites of running. Any ideas?

The start capacitor should be, i think 370V or 480V . Measure the voltage across the capacitor while the motor is running and you'll see. The farads may be right but the voltage no, voltage should have been matched to that of the original capacitor, or higher voltage rating

Motor should have the rating on the motor TAG if it is a run capacitor

Motor not working.

You need to find out what is causing the capacitor to short and "blow up or smoke". Then you will have to replace the capacitor again or the motor will never start up. Sounds like you either have a dead short or you bought a faulty Capacitor. Not uncommon for a 220+ volt Capacitor to be bad right from the factory. I replaced two Capacitors before I had a quality one, but after I replaced it twice I have had no more problems. Make sure to grease the motor through the grease fitting on it. The life of your motor depends on it.

Failed capacitor on clarke SE 14 compessor

On electric motors with two capacitors, one is a start capacitor, the other is a run capacitor. Start capicitors have plastic cases and are rated from 200mf to 400mf and higher depending on the size of the motor. Run capacitors are in the 20mf to 40mf range and usually have metal cases. If you have an electric motor service center in the area they can recommend what size you should use for the size (HP) motor you have.

When i turn the switch on the pump buzzes and wont start , then trips the breaker . Help .

Either the pump is seized or the motor start capacitor is open or blown. If you can spin the impeller with your finger it is most likely a start capacitor problem.

When you try to start it it just clicks.

Check the motor start capacitor and the centrifugal switch on the motor. There may also be a thermal fuse in the motor winding - if this is blown, check the motor bearings and mechanism for excessive friction and make sure the motor windings are not covered with lint or other dust.

My Reddy Pro 150 does nothing when plugged in. I

in the unit there is a motor and beside motor there is a capacitor.its called starting capacitor.if this capacitor is blown the motor will not start and if motor will not start machine will not start even though you have proper power in the machine.Your starting capacitor is bad. It's usually mounted on the side of the motor. If by chance the capacitor is ok.and shows proper reading value in meter test, then it's the thing that the motor wires between the motor and the capacitor . Usually, less than $10. the capacitor is available at any local electronic hardware shop. ------------ This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

Why my ac is on but its not cold

Check the condensing unit (the outdoor section). There are two motors in this unit, a fan and a compressor. If both are not running then you may have a blown fuse or circuit breaker. Fuses are sometimes located in the disconnect box next to the condensor. The circuit breaker is located in your main breaker box. If only one motor is running or neither is running but there are no blown fuses or breakers then you probably have a bad start capacitor. This capacitor should be replaced by a someone knowledgeable in residential 220VAC equipment.

How fix Delta/Rockwell 15 drill press from chuck wobbling. I purchased a Delta / Rockwell 15 drill press model 15-091. The chuck wobbles. I ordered some wedges to remove chuck.jacobs #6 wedges After soaking in pb blaster I removed chuck with ease with the wedges. must have Now after looking at what is called the spindle I believe...it is wobbling. I wonder if I am looking at an arbor or the spindle? Above this piece is a threaded section that is about 1/2. I thought of maybe getting a jacobs 34-33c chuck to screw onto this. Seems like if the spindle/arbor is wobbling it still would not run straight or be difficult to properly seat it. I do know that some quills come with a slot to fit a wedge for removing the arbor. Mine does not have this. Without a proper way to remove an arbor it leads me to believe maybe it doesn't have an arbor. Seems that I am looking at the actual spindle. I need this drill press for precision work. If you know about this model.. Please Help !!!!! I am stuck. Do I need to buy a whole spindle? If it is in fact an arbor how are you supposed to remove it? I thought if it is an arbor I could take a grinder and cut 2 slots in the arbor. Then take a really thick washer and cut out a section. to make it a u shape then slide the washer into the grooves I cut out. Then use the wedges on top of that. After tapping the wedges I would think it would come free. Unless it is one solid rod with a taper at the end like an arbor usually has AKA the spindle....HELP!!!! I can't find ANY info on this anywhere. I know someone must have worked on these before.
