Panasonic microwave problem help needed

I have a Panasonic Microwave Mod. NN - S543BFR. Serial 6A84100983 Manuf August 2004. While trying to bake potatoes it quit working. I set the time to run to 12 min and it quit after about 40 seconds. The fan was running but there was no heating. I tried to melt butter setting timer for 30 seconds and no heat was produced. Is there anything I can do? Danny in Corpus Christi, Tx 78410.

Dan, That unit has an inverter, that is the power source for the part that puts out the Microwave energy called the Magnetron. The inverters are expensive and I stopped doing warranty work for Panasonic beacuse of them. Some pencil pusher somewhere though it was a great idea to replace 3 common fairly inexpensive parts. with that dang inverter. Microwaves have come down a lot in cost, I would buy a new one without an inverter. Sorry, wish I had better suggestions, I DO NOT LIKE THEM. LOL Sorry! Panasonic and their distributors are always out of them and there so expensive no one wants to stock them. I have had new ones sent to me that were already bad.

SOURCE: Panasonic Inverter NN-V673S microwave- shuts off after 2-30 secs

If the screen is showing a fault number or a number you havent seen before then its probably a program fault which can't be fixed. Check that the vent holes on the back of the oven aren't dirty and ensure that the whole oven is clean inside. Sadly it sounds like a program fault which cant usually be fixed by the owner though.
Finding a Panasonic oven repairer in the UK shouldnt be a problem though. My parents had a simlar problem wth their Panasonic Inverter oven, called the UK customer services and Panasonic contacted an authorised repairer in Scotland to visit them. Call customer services on 0844 844 3868.
If the call out charge exceeds £80 then you're probably better off buying a new oven.

Where will I find the manual for the Panasonic microwave type s333 no, f00067602cp

Type S333 indicates something about the internal build; it's not the model number. Most Panasonic microwaves have a model number that starts with NN-S followed by 3 numbers and several letters. One microwave with the Type S333 on the serial number plate is the NN-S740BA. The manual for that is on the product support page: http://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/NN-S740BA.html . The direct link to the manual is ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/microwaveoven/om/nn-s740_mul_om.pdf .

Please check for the actual model number. Add a comment with that model number if you would like me to search for the manual.

I hope this helps.

I do not know that could I bake cake in Panasonic NN-G335WF/MF

Hey, anything is possible! Even I have baked a cake in one. Use Panasonic's cook book, or something else from a wonderful author like Betty Crocker.

Model: NN-SD277W.     serial number: 6A88040672 A.

There is a dead short in the microwave oven that can be any number of things, yes you will need a pro to fix this and I suggest an estimate first.

Just replaced the magnetron in my Panasonic NN-S543BFR. I still don't get any heat from my oven. Everything works as set but still no heat in oven. Need suggestions on repairs.

When you say "Everything works as set" do you mean the microwave appears to function properly, but then doesn't heat?

If the magnetron is new, then the magnetron must not be receiving the required high voltage (2000V or more) from the HV circuit. Make sure you've got 120V to the PRIMARY (don't attempt to measure secondary voltage of the HV transformer without special equipment) of the HV transformer. After that check the HV capacitor and diodes. If these components test OK, then either your HV transformer is bad or your new magnetron is faulty. My experience is that the problem is usually in control circuitry, preventing 120V to the HV transformer, or opens/shorts in the HV components (diodes and capacitors).

Wont heat

Hi, there are three issues that will cause a no heat situation in a microwave. these issue are a failed Magnetron, busted cut-off fuse and, failed diode.

I recommend checking all these area that are located inside the microwave for faults.

The most common issue will be a failed Magnetron.

The diode and, fuse will be located on the noise filter assembly.

Microwave -- Panasonic NN-S543BFR

I would say either the high voltage transformer or a component on the inverter board has failed.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer.
