Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Buttons not responding.

On my phone...the only button that is working is the power button or the red button. And the volume control and other small buttons near the screen are working too...none of the numbers or any of the rest of the buttons are working except for the red button. I try pressing them but nothing is responding and after a while the screen and the buttons go dim.

Soft Reset

If your Xperia Z Series is frozen and not responding when pressing on buttons or tapping the screen, try a soft reset. A soft reset will not wipe any data from the device.
  1. Open the SIM card door cover on the side of the phone.
  2. Use the end of a paper clip to press the small "OFF" button until the device vibrates. The Xperia will shut off, allowing you to restart.

Hard Reset

If you wish to return your Sony Xperia Z Series smartphone to factory default settings, a hard reset is the answer. If you perform a hard reset, it will wipe all data and settings from the device. You may wish to perform these steps if you've been experiencing lock ups or other types of malfunctions, or if you will no longer be using the device.
Note: If you think you may need any information stored on the phone in the future, be sure to backup the data.

Option 1 - Hardware Buttons

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold "Power" and "Volume Down".
  2. When the "Sony" screen appears, release both buttons.
  3. The Recovery screen will appear. Use the volume buttons to toggle the selection to "Factory Reset", then press "Power" to select.
  4. Use the volume buttons to toggle the selection to "Yes", then press "Power" to select.

Option 2 - From Android OS

  1. Open "Settings".
  2. Select "Backup & reset".
  3. Tap "Factory data reset".
  4. Select "Reset phone".
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Z Series will then go through the process of formatting the memory. Wait for it to restart and factory default settings will be restored.

LG-D802 not responding properly to touch. code for repair

There is four simple step to format . just follow it.
remember if ur phone memory have important data so u should be aware that i will erase ur data.but there is no other methods so..

Power down your device. Before you begin the reset procedure, you will need to completely power your device off. If it is frozen, you can pull the battery out to turn it off.
Press and hold the recovery buttons. The buttons vary from device to device, so you may need to look up the instructions for your particular phone. You will need to press and hold the buttons for a few seconds. Some of the more common button combinations include:
  • Volume Up + Home + Power
  • Volume Down + Power
  • Home + Power
  • If none of the above work, do a web search for your phone's model plus "recovery mode".
  • 3-
  • Select Factory Reset. Once the recovery menu opens, you can navigate the menu with the volume buttons. You may need to open the Recovery menu to find the Factory Reset mode. Use the Power button, some models use the camera button, to select your menu options.
  • You will be asked to confirm the factory reset.
  • 4--
Wait for the restore process to compete. After your phone resets, it will be set back to factory defaults and will be like it just came out of the box.
    • thank u!

My htc hd2 it get frozen at the TMOBILE logo "STICK TOGETHER" i profomed a soft reset by pressing the little small button pn the back of my phone and it still does the same thing

you will have to perform a hard reset and here is how you do it
Performing a factory reset using phone buttons If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using buttons on the phone.
With your phone powered off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons. While holding the volume buttons, press the END/POWER button briefly and then release it. When you see a warning message on screen, release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
Thumps up if this works :-)

You can restore the phone to factory default but it will erase all your data.

  1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it.
  2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
  3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

Keypad not working v9 moto

The volume buttons on the side of the phone are sticking. My up volume button seemed fine, but someone told me to keep pushing it and the button will release. Sure enough, the volume controls started to work. I played with both the up and down buttons some more and the button below started working. A few more minutes monkeying around with the volume buttons and now all the buttons work.

Buttons not working

The volume key is stuck that's why the volume bar keeps on popping out. It is also the reason why the keypad is not working. You have to unstuck the volume key to check if the keypad really doesn't work.
  1. Remove the battery cover and battery.
  2. Remove the camera cover by prying the locks along its sides and lifting it up to expose the volume keys.
  3. Insert a needle between the volume key membranes and the board to unstuck it. The membranes should click when pressed.
  4. Install the camera cover in reverse order.
Inform me if the volume keys work fine but the keypad buttons don't.

Yes. on the side of the phone there's a voice command button .. with a twist ... it'll respond to voice command but it'll also respond to the directional buttons and sometimes .. the volume buttons work as directional buttons as well.

This issue is my biggest complaint about the phone. Setting my phone to vibrate is about worthless as the phone goes to full vol or silence. (I missed most of my calls or was startled by the loud ringer due to this "feature")
I used a small diamond file to file off the extruded portion of the buttons. I think a dremel tool would have worked best to get a nice recessed finish, but filing it smooth works also.
This helped me significantly. I can still use the side buttons when I want to, and it doesnt get pressed in my pocket.
(I wish there was a better software solution)
