Replacing air filter

Easily removing air filter to clean, when I went to reinstall filter, there was something blocking the air filter's path. There appears to be no way to do this without unscrewing the whole front cover of the unit. The manual just states to remove, clean and replace........

if it is an air filter just tap it gently to remove excess dirt. All others no replacing then is the only answer . Unless they are fully blocked then another week will not matter but remember clean filters do a better job than 1/2 blocked ones

How to clean sludge from gas tanks?

It would be best if you remove the tank completely as you will need to dry it completely after rinsing it.

This will give you the opportunity to remove the fuel pump assembly, and at least replace the filter on that pump, if nothing else. I would actually replace the pump and filter while it's out and while it is easily done-just to save from having to do it soon.

If there is sediment and sludge in the tank, that couldn't have helped the pump or filter.

Normally there's just rust & sediment but if you've got sludge, I would suggest allowing it to drain into something, then using some GUNK or similar engine cleaner to spray it with, using Gumout on tough areas, follow by rinsing with water completely.

Set it into the sunshine or somewhere dry and warm, and let it dry out completely and reinstall.

Change your fuel filter and fill it about 1/2 full with injector cleaner before you reinstall it, to get a "professional injector cleaning", the cheap way.
New tanks on eBay around 135.00 if you ever need one.

Good luck.

One-year old LG humidifier (LD450EAL) runs but no water is being extracted from the air - the hose outlet is dry. The hose is connected properly, and the compressor sounds like it's running, not just...

Alan, it may simply be a case of several things, that can easily corrected at home.

1. The Humidity Extraction Level is set to High. Lower it to 32-35%.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Remove, inspect the filter and clean if necessary. It it's a
Washable Filter, allow it to thoroughly dry before reinstalling it.

3. Obstructed Air Flow. A minimum of 12" to 18" clear air around the entire unit, must be
maintained.

4. The ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees F. This is particularly true in
basement applications. The air temp at floor level is colder than the air temp at shoulder level.
Dehumidifiers don't work well in that temperature range (Unless, it's a Low Temp model). Raise
the unit up off the floor on to a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight of the
unit, plus a full tank of water.

If you troubleshoot the 4 things listed above, it may quickly solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

What does code 446 mean on the 1996 Chevy Blazer?

P0446 = Evaporative Emission Control / System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction.

Check it, and before you replace the Evap Canister read this:

Subject: DTC P0446 (Restricted/Blocked EVAP Vent Path) Set, Service Engine Soon (SES) Lamp Illuminated (Replace Hose/Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Asm) #02-06-04-037A - (02/02/2005)
Models: 1999-2003 Chevrolet Silverado Models
1999-2003 GMC Sierra Models
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This bulletin is being revised to add model years. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 02-06-04-037 (Section 06 -- Engine/Propulsion System).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Condition
Some customers whose vehicles are operated in dusty type environments, such as farming or mining off-road type applications, may comment about the illumination of the instrument panel SES light, with a DTC of P0446 (Restricted/Blocked EVAP Vent Path) being set.

Cause
Dirt and dust intrusion into the EVAP canister vent hose assembly, resulting in restricted air flow, may cause this condition.

Correction
After following the Service Manual diagnostic P0446 and determining that the EVAP canister vent valve is the cause of the SES light, replace the existing EVAP canister vent hose assembly with a new assembly, P/N 15086429. This new assembly has an enhanced filtering capability and a filter element that can be easily removed and cleaned. To ensure correct installation, follow the procedure below.

Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle.
Disconnect the EVAP canister vent valve electrical connector.
Disconnect the vent valve pipe at the EVAP canister.
Remove and retain the EVAP canister vent valve bracket mounting bolt.
Disengage, from the underbody, the two vent valve pipe clips securing the pipe to the underbody.
Remove and discard the complete EVAP canister vent hose assembly.
Position and secure the new assembly to the underbody using the existing hole and mounting bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bracket mounting bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

Install the two vent valve pipe clips into the existing underbody holes.
Connect the vent valve pipe to the EVAP canister.
Connect the EVAP canister vent valve electrical connector.
Lower the vehicle.
When properly installed, the new EVAP canister vent hose assembly will be positioned outboard of the original installation location. This new location provides clearance for accessing the filter element for cleaning purposes. To access the filter element, disengage the filter cover to valve locking finger by gently lifting the finger upward while simultaneously rotating the filter body clockwise. After approximately 45 degrees of rotation, the filter can be disengaged from the valve by gently pulling outward. The filter cover can then be removed and the filter element and body can be washed with soap and water. Prior to reinstalling, ensure that the body and filter element are dry.

Part Number 15086429 Hose Asm-Evap Emis Cnstr Vent

Hope help with this.

How to change air filters on 2007 Mercedes C230 Sport

I have '05, both should be similar:
1.Cabin air filter is located above battery on right side against firewall.
Release three latches, remove filter housing, slide old filter out (housing is flexible), insert new
one, reinstall housing.
2.Engine air filter is on the left side of the block (follow intake hose). Cover is retained with six screws
(six point star shape,I belive called Torox, bit/scredriver size 25). Loosen screws (don' t pull all the
way out of the cover) lift cover , and remove old filter. Insert new one, reinstall cover. DO NOT
OVERTORQUE SCREWS! Screw holes in plastic filter housing strip very easily.
Note: Intake hose is very flimsy, one on my car came apart and had to be replaced.

Bosch WTM C3300 Dryer

I don't own this model of the Bosch dryer, but my guess is that your hot air flow path is partially blocked with lint or something else. Our heating/air flow element was blocked with a errant latex club hit the elements. I cleaned the flow path and removed the heater obstruction with good results for nearly a year to date.
