Question about Casio Parts Cash Register PC Desktop
It will calculate it if it is under 1.00, so if I sold an item for .98 and took .99 in cash it comes up .01 change but it just says error if I put in higher amounts after the subtotal is pressed and before the AT/TL button is pressed. I cant seem to find a way to change this.
It sounds like there is a change limit or HALO (high amount limit) set on the AT/TL button. Check the programming for that button and make sure there is no limit set in programming.

I don't have this error code in my notes at all. Is there a description of it in your manual? You may have a different software version in your machine.

Hi. I'm afraid this is not a 'basic requirement' of a cash register. You are working with a very complicated area of cash registers that only the medium to high end machines can even do. If you are getting stuck already, then you will not be able to work out the more complex batch processing areas of scanning either.
Your dealer should have setup the majority of this for you before you left their store (especially the keyboard layout issue and keysheet for the keyboard), then you would normally receive extensive training if you are going to be making program changes yourself in future.
You will need to learn about the difference between flat PLUs and scanning PLUs, 'Not found PLUs' like you have run into so far, then deletion techniques, PLU status programming, manual entry using OBR method etc. The book is only a guide to what you should have learnt during training. You really need to go back to the dealer and get a training session. They should be able to sort out all of these problems for you. It will take a one on one demo to fully train the ins and outs of full scanning systems.

The reason it went into error is due to someone turning the key to another mode without finishing the current transaction. Turn the key to each mode until you find the mode that doesn't give error 1. If that mode is X or Z, then press SUBTOTAL. If that mode is REG, then press SUBTOTAL to see the amount due, then type that amount and press CASH

Make sure you have the key in the program position and you can see P01 on the display after you press 1 SUBTOTAL (some models just show P). this will tell you that you are ready for price changes.
Make sure you DO NOT use a decimal point, so for $5.00, type in 500.
If you still can't sort it, let me know the model number and I'll try to give more help.

Testimonial: "THANK YOU! We were using the decimal point to enter amount for the department keys."
