There should be a tracking adjustment knob on the side of the sander behind the front roller. Run the saw and adjust this knob to center the belt. You will probably have to do this every time you change belts. Hope this helps you...

Replaced brushes in my 7500 3x18" Skil Belt Sander & they only go
in one way. I had to take off both side covers to see what I was doing
and saw the drive belt. Take the side frame off, remove the old drive
belt, replace with a new one. Can't see how it could tightly lodged as
the drive is basically "closed" around the edges. I pulled mine off
just to see if I could clen it a bit. Hope I seeing what your speaking
