MOTOROLA V3i cant apply MP3's as ringtone!!!!!!!!

Just bought the V3i (previously owned the original V3) but cannot for the life of me find a way to set saved/downloaded MP3 songs as ringtones. when i go into "sounds" menu select a song and click the menu button there is no option to "apply as ringtone" as there is on the old V3's and L6's. If you have a memory card and the ringtone is on the card, you will have to copy it to your phone to be able to use it as a ringtone.

How to Create MP3 Ringtones for iPhones with only iTunes and Previously...

  1. Start iTunes and find the song you want to convert. (It must be an MP3.)
  2. Right-click the song and choose Get Info.
  3. Click the Options tab.
  4. Check the Start Time and Stop Time boxes, then enter times for each (no more than 30 seconds apart, the maximum length for a ringtone). I used 0:00 and 0:30, respectively, as "Spit It Out" has a perfect ascending lead-in.
  5. Click OK, then right-click the song again and choose Create AAC Version. You should immediately see a new 30-second version of the song.
  6. Drag that version out of iTunes and into the folder of your choice.
  7. Delete the 30-second version from iTunes and undo the Start Time/Stop Time changes to the original.
  8. Open the folder containing the 30-second AAC file you dragged out of iTunes, then change the file extension from .m4a to .m4r. Double-click it and it immediately gets added to iTunes' ringtone library.
  9. Finally, sync your iPhone. When it's done, you can head into the settings and select your new ringtone.

You can try converting it to 3GP instead of MP3, that might help.

Is there anyway to have mp3's set as your ringtone?

yes, sign up at myxer.com, which is free. Go to create your own ringtone, you will select browse, then browse your mp3 songs in your music file, select the song, and myxer will guide you the rest of the way. All my ringtones come from my saved mp3 songs in my documents folder in my computer. i hoped i helped you.

Cannot apply mp3 ringtones as ringers

U really need the phone tools disk to change your songs into useable clips. This phone won't play a full song as a ringtone, only clips. THe software is really easy to use and you can find it on ebay fairly cheap, just make sure to enter the correct phone into the software for correct support. Good luck!

How do i download mp3 ringtones to my phone?

If it is Only Razr V3 then probably youdon't have memoty card slot and the sadest part is it has got only 5 MB of space, which will allow you to store only one or two Mp3 song(s) depending upon the size. You can transfer it through Bluetooth. If it is a V3i model having Memory card slot then it is even easier to down load by using Card Reader connected to PC. just drag & drop to the music folder in your memory card. In a memory card you can put lots of songs depending upon the size of your card, say 128MB can hold upto arround 30 nos of songs. Yes you can put choose the Mp3 as Ring Tone Also.
