I bought a camera of ebay.... (I Know, dont say it)and everything is perfect except playback mode. I press the green play button and it does nothing. I have formatted the card, tried new card, reset camera played about with most settings. The screen works and I can live view etc I can even see the image one it has taken the picture I just cannot enter playback mode.
Has anyone any Ideas?

Press the Playback button (the right-pointing triangle, just to the right of the MENU button) to enter the Playback mode then press the MENU button to bring up the Playback menu. Copy is the seventh item on this menu.
try to playback previous images ..If screen looks good on playback and or main menu..Camera likely has problem with CCD imager and camer digital processor board. If camera also looks bad on playback and menu..its possible the LCD IS BAD..easy test is to hook up camera on a monitor or computer and see what picture on camera mode looks like..If it also looks bad on a different monitor..Then CCD imager could be bad..If playback and camera mode lokk bad on monitor ..then you have a video process board problem ...please let me know
You need to open the frontcover fully untill it clicks, and, if still in playback mode, to press the shutterbutton half way down.
If you hold down the playback button for 2 seconds, even while the lenscover is closed, the camera will go into playback mode.
To my understanding that you do not see live view in camera mode to record and camcorder playback old recorded tapes correctly and you get picture in LCD. If it is true then please check lens cover that need to be slide down to get live view in camera mode. If problem still exist then 2 possibilities, either aperture in lens mechanism is bad or ccd imager is defective. In that problem, camcorder needs qualified tech to fix it. Let me know any further query.
Press and hold the playback button for 2 seconds. The camera should turn on and be in playback mode. Switch to Camera Mode by opening the from slider cover. Hope that fixes it. See Pentax Z10 Manual Page 34. http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/manual/OptioZ10.pdf

You have the camera in Highlights mode.. while in playback use the up,down, right, left pad press it up and it will go through different displays like what settings you had the camera in when you took the picture then there is a graph screen... after that one is the highlights display which is what you have it on. Push up one more time to have it on regular playback mode. The manual explains this much better than I just did. If you have the manual you should check it out if my instructions dont help.
Hi, the solution to the problem seems to be the following. When u press play, once, you get 1x play. If whilst playing you press play a second time the DS-30 goes into slow play mode, and if you press a second time it goes into fast mode. For those of us who accidentally went into either fast or slow mode, just press the play button again, during playback, until "play" appears on the LCD screen. Apparently it is as simple as that.
Firewire transfer problem with PV-GS320. HAd bought the PV-GS90 and ran into significant transfer issues importing to Mac (iMovie and Fincal Cut Express HD both had problems). Upgraded to GS320 as Macworld rated it highly. Same problems: video plays back perfectly with no computer connection. once connected, video and audio stutter, go out of sync, sometimes just stop and/or crash the program.
I've used a borrowed Canon GL with this Mac before with no issues, so I suspect the camera. Have tried reset button, trashing preferences, restarts, the works. still can't get clean video to transfer from a brand new camera. Any Ideas?
The camcorder may be in what may be called "narration mode." This function mutes the playback audio so you can narrate with you own voice when playing tapes back. Check for a function like this in the playback sound menu.
dont give up - i am expecting a call from my daughter was the first to experirnce the format problem, she fixed it but i cant seem to get it formatted myself. i will let you know what the problems are asap
