Re: usb shortage

The easiest way is to just get a USB hub, as described here: These are commonplace, and work very well.

Re: usb shortage

There's a photo of your motherboard here: You see the part labeled "USB header for two extra USB channels." That is where you'd connect any additional USB ports. When you say you have two ports on the front of the stack, I assume you mean on the front of your computer case? Front mounted USB are handy, and just about standard on most cases. Just connect the cable from them to that connector and you should be ready to go. If you're not sure which way to connect it, just try one - you won't break anything by connecting it backwards (you'll just have to switch it to get them to work).

Hi there, It sounds like your problem is that you haven't hooked up your front USB ports to your motherboard. If you open up your computer case, you should notice some cables coming down from the front USB ports. Those cables need to be attached to USB headers on your motherboard. You should check out your motherboards manual to see where the pins for the USB headers are, and then hook up the cable. My guess would be that no USB device works via the front panel, but after hooking up these cables all devices, including your external hard drive, will. If you need more help/clarification, let me know please! Alex

MSI motherboard model 6734 AGP interface

Looks like your motherboard is a MSI KM4AM-L detailed here:

If so, then it has an AGP slot which will run at 4x and 8x.

Remember to check the BIOS settings after you install it to make sure it is set to 8x, if that is what your card will take.

Where to connect card reader?

Easy, if you find where your front usb port is connected you'll see some odd ports that have 10 pins slots one of which has a missing pin, either in the lower left hand corner or in one of the center pin positions. Find the one that matches your generic (usb) card reader and plug her in. The card readers that come prebuilt in computers now are based on usb technology and fit into the same slots as the USB connectors. In fact if this is on a 915G it should plug into one of the JUSB1 or 2 slots.
