I have just purchased a 512MB Lexar Memory Stick Pro Duo card for my camera. As soon as I turn on the camera I receive a memory stick error. It is not able to be reformatted as the this same message appears. My 'old' memory card still works perfectly well. I have changed the batteries and tried other solutions previously suggested on this site to no avail. I am not able to return the card to the store as I have lost my receipt and am not sure if this is a camera or memory card issue.

As a last resort you could copy the full card to a computer and then delete the pictures on the card and use that again.

the memory stick pro duo should fit right into the sony cybershot....
if your struggling to load your photos onto your computer buy a universal memory card reader!
you should try and use a memory stick in a camera that needs an sd though!
I was having the same problem with my 4GB memory stick pro duo, when i took more than 50 pictures with my camera (dsc-w90) i would get the blue screen with the file error message. I'm guessing you bought the memory stick on ebay right? I bought mines there and it turns out it's a fake one. If you also bought it there then you most likely have a fake memory stick because I found out that most of the memory sticks sold on ebay are fake, to help you figure out if you have a fake one or not check out this guide or google fake memory stick pro duo.
