SOURCE: Overheating Hoover

Most likely caused by a lack of airflow. Check to see if you have airflow at the end of the hose. If not, Remove all of the hoses and ensure that they are not clogged. If there is airflow through the hose; check the air inlet immediately aft of the brushroll, inside the nozzle. This is a very common place for clogs to form.

Also note: contrary to some manufacturers claims, you can not clean (or wash, for that matter;) a hepa filter. The small particles are too embedded in the filter media to ever get completely removed, and the act of cleaning tends to damage the filters, even if you can't see the damage. This is why bagless life-spans, on average, are half the length of the life-spans of bagged vacuums.

Good luck,

-R

Power just stopped working

It may be chance but I would locate the air filter, if very dirty it will cause the motor to heat up and trip a thermal breaker, last one I saw we had to wait several hours for the breaker to release.

Needless to say when I washed per the instructions on the filter the water ran black for several minutes, had to let it dry overnight and not use air or heat directly on it.

Most that can be washed are foam and have instructions of some sort where the filter installs.

hope you have that and not a electrical failure in the unit.

How do you clean the Dyson dco7 cyclone top

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

We would not recommend that you take the cyclone top apart. This part is designed to be a sealed unit and taking it apart may affect ther performance of your machine ongoing.

If you are concerned with the performance of your machine, please follow the blockage procedure and filter washing instructions on our website in the support section at www.dyson.com or check your user guide.

If you do want to clear dust and debris from the cyclone, we recommend that you simply hold the cyclone top over a bin and bang the sides gently to remove any dust from the inside.

Kind regards
Darran
