FP 5315 Focus Problem

Hi, i have a problem with the Compaq FP5315 Monitor, it works, but the screen seems out of focus and very bright, i tried ajusting the contrast and brightness via the OSD but these have little if no effect, the only time that it looks normal is for a few seconds while using the auto adjust then it goes back to being out of focus and very low color quality, i've also tried the clock and clock phaze funtions these make text a bit easier to see, but still dont fix the problem, i would greatly appreciate any help that can be offered with this problem.
