It's surging... your carburetor needs to be serviced. It's not giving the proper air fuel ratio to the engine...

Replacing the pump

There are only 3 things necessary for ignition.
1. fuel
2. air
3. spark

Use a starting fluid spray directly into air filter.
if engine starts but doesn't run the problem is fuel'

remove the carburetor float bowl and then use a screwdriver to remove the jet locking nut in the tube the bowl nut attaches.
Use a small wire to remove the jet locking nut after it is loose. Then use the wire to remove the jet tube. Tube has several jet ports that should also be cleaned. reassemble. Allow carburetor bowl to refill then crank at full choke position. If the engine starts buy some techron fuel additive from an auto parts store and add 2-4 ounces to the gas for the next 2 tanks. this will completely clean the fuel system.

If engine doesn't start check for spark either using a spark tester or removing the spark plug and holding plug against the engine frame and pulling starter rope if spark is present replace the spark plug and try to restart the engine.

If these steps don't work I would replace the carburetor.

Homelite weed trimmer bogs down and smothers out quits running

This could be a number of things. Clogged air filter/fuel filter/carburetor/fuel tank lid breather hole, cracked fuel line or primer bulb, or clogged spark arrestor in muffler. Here's some links that will help to change the bulb, fuel cap, fuel lines, rebuild carb, replace spark arrestor, and troubleshoot.

If it begins to catch then you definitely have ignition. Try replacing the plug with same type. If same result, the main jet in carburetor is clogged or the needle valve is stuck and not allowing fuel to enter into motor.

I have a Homelite Easyreach Model # UT20044A that will start, but then dies. Cleaned the filter, spark plug but still dies

Check that the carburettor and fuel lines are clean. If the unit has not been used for a while the gas (petrol) will evaporate leaving the oil behind to choke up the fuel system. Dirty fuel will do the same. When adding fuel use a funnel with gauze filter in it and always empty the fuel tank and then run the motor until it dies when you've finished work.

I have a practically new Homelite String Trimmer (model #UT20006 25cc) that has been sitting in the box in my mother-in-law's closet for over 3 years. It will start up like a charm. Fairly easy to crank in...

If all those items you mentioned are ok, then check the Air filter! If it's been sitting around, it may be plugged up or it may have insects that have built nests inside...
Also, there should be a fuel line back to the tank for pressurizing the system... Make sure the gas cap is tight, and the return line is snug in the tank.

My gas pressure washer fell in the pool while running. Is it a goner?

Maybe, there is a slim chance it died before sucking water into the cylinder and cracking the head. To try and fix it drain out all motor oil buy a can of carburetor cleaner and spray the engine out remove the oil plug and the spark plug and spray some wd 40 into the spark plug hole, replace the air filter dry the spark plug and clean the fuel tank and replace the fuel filter inside the fuel tank replace oil with fresh oil and then give it a try. You’re out $20.00 but if it runs you are one lucky person.

If you have a two line fuel system make sure the lines didn't get crossed. If they are you could still get gas to the cylinder but not enough. I hope this will of some help to you. Donnyb60
