How many Quarts ATF wo/converter

4L60 transmissionService change only - 5 quarts.

Total refill - 11 quarts.

Because you actually are mixing the 5 new with 6 quarts of the old, if your fluid is old you might want to change it and then drive a few minutes and change it again to get more new fluid mixed in. You can get a total flush at an oil change store. (for a price).

How much fluid do i need for my 2001 potiac grand am se 4 cylinder

It has a capacity of 5 quarts of SAE 5W30 oil with filter change. The cooling system capacity is 2 3/4 gallon of a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water. The 40T40E transmission/torque converter holds a total capacity of 12.9 quarts or 6.9 quarts to just drain the pan and replace the fluid.

WHILE ENGINE COLD FLUID LEVEL ON DIP STICK SHOULD FULL MARK.CRANK ENGINE LET VECHICLE IDLE TO WARM.THEN HOLD FOOT ON BRAKE SHIFT THROUGH ALL GEARS FEW TIMES CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL IF LOW ADD FLUID UNTIL YOU GET TO FULL MARK.IF YOU HAVE THE TRANSMISSION WITH NO DIP STICK.YOU NEED TO CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID + FILTER. YOU NEED 7 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID.BUY DEALERSHIP TRANSMISSION PAN GASKET ITS THICKER MADE DIFFERENT WONT LEAK FLUID. THE TRANSMISSION GASKETS AT AUTO PARTS STORES TOO THIN LEAK FLUID BAD.

What is a good synthetic diff fluid for 98 explorer 4X4 and a 98 ranger2X4? and what quantity should I purchase for each I am replacing both covers?

RedLine makes very good differential fluids. The fluid in the rear differential is going to be 75w140 and as far as the front differential,I would check with the parts store for that.It could be 75w90 or 75w140. You should get about 2 quarts of fluid for each differential. The transfer case is going to use Mercon V(5).About 2 quarts for that as well.

How many quarts of transmission fluid does a 2001

If the leak is not to bad then they do sell a transmission leak stopper. Ask at the auto parts store. If the leak is real bad then done waste your hard earned cash. You will need to find and fix the leak. You should do this any ways. But in the mean time to check the tranny fluid and I am assuming it is an auotmatic? Then you need to put the emergency brake on and stick it in neutral. Then start the engine and then check the dip stick.Remember this important tip. The dip stick on an automatic transmission is measured in pints and not quarts unlike the oil dip stick.
If the tranny dip stick is down one notch then add just a pint to bring it to the full mark. If no fluid is presant on the stick you can safely add 3/4 of a quart and then recheck. To add the fluid you will need to shut the engine off and then restart it to recheck it. The torque converter holds 90 percent of the tranny fluid and it takes quite a bit. Some vehicles it takes 8 quarts just for the converter to get full. Yours should only hold maybe 6 but thats a guess so you may want to ask the parts store guy to look it up for you. You would not be completely empty if it drives though. So follow my info above and get back to me if you need more help. Like when you find the leak. Good Luck, The Raz

What is capacity for trnasmission fluid for 3.0 v6 engine?

The best place to find this info is at your local parts dealers. The established ones have oil-stained big books at their disposal, and now all the stores have this info immediately at their fingertips through their computers.

Hi,How do I change the transmission fluid in my 03 Ford Windstar van and what parts do I need. Thank You.

For some unknown reason no one seems to put drain plugs on transmissions. You have to loosen the bolts holding the inspection plate on the bottom of the tranny and try and do it in such a way as one corner lower's first to drain the fluid, it will still be very messy. You can buy a transmission filter and new gasket at any parts store they should also be able to tell you how many quarts of fluid you will need. I don't know how many the Windstar takes but I would ask them first, I've had some cars take only 4 quarts and 1 that took 16 quarts. You refill it through the tranny dip stick.
