When we had received a voice message whilst out of the house we had a little envelope showing that on 1571 there was a message waiting. It not longer does this, what have I pressed incorrectly??

The phone is a KX-TG8022. We have the 1571 service from BT and on our previous supplier we had a little envelope to show that we had received a message when we we away from home. Since we have change provider to BT we no longer know that we have received a message as the envelope does not show. If you ring 1571 it will still retrieve the message. Is it a problem with the phone or provider?. Would of thought the phone. So what button(s) do I need to press to switch the "showing envelope" when voice message received.?
