Inteligent eye Not Working

Hi has any one seen this problem with I eye ? For some reason it always seems very dark at night time and during the day time as well as if it does not work. Occassionally in the day time the picture appears ok, but if you put your hand over the sensor it changes all the settings and suddenly is very dark. Is the purpose of I eye to adjust the screen to the room lighting conditions i.e if you are watching tv in the dark it should brighten the picture up ? It was working fine up untill 3 weeks ago but since then has not worked. I called the place where i bought the tv from and he says i should put up with it as he has the same tv and it does the same ! Surely not, help ....

Picture problems

A general answer is:

Most sets like this one use two boards to drive the screen--in this one there is one for left half and another for right side.

Different brands use different names like inverter, etc but it seems issue is on right side?

Unlikely but possible is also a issue in the power supply but usually if there both sides or whole screen is affected..

The fact it clears up after some time means it is a thermal or temperature problem---it could even be a solder connection.

The problem would have to be isolated to one board (not always easy) and the board replaced to see if it cures the issue or not.

Also consider spending the time with Toshiba customer service to see if their data base (they log all reports of problems) has some information that might help you.

Hi My screen is really dark when inside night pictures. I have tried to increase brightness. But can't adjust. Can you help plse ?

The set may have an ambient light detector - if so then the set up options will allow you to vary the screen brightness - a simple check to find out if this could be the problem would be to display an image during the day then if possible close the blinda and make the room dark - alternatviley do the same at night then switch the room lights on and off and see if the brightness changes.

42EDT41 colored snow/pixels

I have the same green dots that are seen especially when the bacground picture is dark or black. Mine does not seem to be changing when it warms up, and I also get it on my digital cable as well as on any DVD's I play. Please help with any advise. I think it was always there, but I assumed that a dgital cable upgrade would fix it - I should have known better...

Thanks a bunch in advance...

DO I take it back????

While the occasional dead pixel may be the norm for LCD TV's, the dark circle you've been encountering sounds as if it may be a factory defect. As long as you are still within the 30-day return period, I would suggest returning to your local store and seeking an exchange at this time.

Generally, your chances of encountering the exact same problem with two different TV's made by the same company are slim to none, but that does not necessarily mean that it is not a possibility. When the same defect surfaces repeatedly, manufacturers will often issue recalls of the affected model line. For this specific model TV however, I was not able to locate any such recall notices.

Remember that if you’re still not sure how to proceed, you may always speak with an associate at your local Best Buy™ store for more information and further assistance.

Hope this helps you out.
