Mouse pad not working

Examine your "Function"/"F" keys and look for a touchpad icon. If you find one, hold the "Fn" key and press the touchpad icon button to unlock the touchpad. Move on to Step 2 if your laptop doesn't support this feature. Plug a USB mouse into an open port on your laptop. Click the Windows "Start" button. Click "Control Panel" in Windows XP and double-click "Device Manager." Type "Device" in the search box in Vista and Windows 7 and click "Device Manager" from the results. Click "+" next to "Mice and other pointing devices." Right-click the touchpad and select "Enable." Your touchpad is now unlocked. Hope this helps.

Hi.. My lenovo Y510 laptop mouse pad is locked, so kindly suggest to unlock the mouse pad. Thanks n Regards Ratnadeep Nath 09322136821

First of all check if the hardware is detected. Look in the Device Manager under "Mice or Other Pointing Devices". If it's not detected means there's a problem with your TouchPad.

Normally you won't need drivers for the touchpad. It should be detected as PS/2 Compatible device.

THe mouse on my lap top is locked .how can i unlock it

The TouchPad is enabled by default. To change the enable/
disable TouchPad setting by using the Fn + F9 keys, see
“Disabling or enabling the TouchPad” on page 234.
You may also change the enable/disable setting as follows:
1 Click Start, Control Panel.
The Control Panel window appears.
2 Click Printers and Other Hardware.
3 Click Mouse.
The Mouse Properties window appears.
4 Click the TouchPAD ON/OFF tab.
The TouchPAD ON/OFF tab view window appears.
5 Select Disable or Enable, whichever is appropriate.
6 Click Apply.
7 Click OK.
The Mouse Properties window closes.
8 Close the Printers and Other Hardware window.
9 Close the Control Panel window.

Or you can get the manual on the link below. Just type in the # code and click on download now. Page 61 tells you how to unlock the mouse pad.

How can i unlock my netbook mouse pad? hp mini 210-1000

The keys for unlocking the mouse or touchpad is pressing Fn and F9.
If it does not work, try to reboot and press Fn and F9 again. If it still fails, I suggest to re install the mouse pad driver.

Hope this helps!

I'm assuming you are talking about the touchpad - they may have hit one of your hotkeys - fn+f7 will toggle the touchpad on and off - on my aspire 3050 anyway - try fn+f1 to get a list of the hotkeys and what they do to make sure
