Usb not working, software ok,works with pci card adapter

A) What makes you think the 'software' is OK? Windows may have lost the address to the DRIVERS; you want to believe Windows? Lol!
(Device Manager)

B) I would go to Device Manager, (Start > Right-click on My Computer > Left-click on Properties > Left-click on Hardware tab > Left-click on Device Manager)

Then click on the + sign to the left of Universal Serial Bus controllers.
Right-click; ONE AT A TIME, on each Intel USB Host Controller.

(Number/letters after each one.
Examples from mine;
1) Intel (R) 8280 1FB/FBM USB Universal Host controller - 2658
2) Intel........................................................................ - 2659
3) Intel........................................................................ - 265A
4) Intel........................................................................ - 265B
5) Intel........................................................................ - 265C

The Southbridge chip part number is Intel 82801FB { ICH6 }
Northbridge chip part number is Intel 915G )

Then left-click on -> Uninstall.

(Yes, a 'squawk box' will come up, "Warning you are about to uninstall this device". Whatever Windows! Click on OK )

Close all windows, go back to your desktop screen; and restart the computer.
(Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart)

When Windows has fully loaded again, you should see a 'pop-up' out of the system tray, "Found new hardware."
Plus perhaps another one, "Found USB Host controller XXXX"

Now go back to Device Manager, USB Host controllers, and do the same on the second one listed. Then go back, and perform on all USB Host controllers -> One At A Time.
(xxxx stands for the number/letter code )

You may also want to download, AND install the driver for the Chipset,

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/inspiron-1150

When I state download, I mean to -> Save File, Then DOUBLE-click right on the file name, AND install it.

Why Chipset driver?

Primer:
Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Circuit

The motherboard chipset is what is indicated by the term - Chipset, on the drivers download page.

The motherboard chipset design used for your laptop, consists of a Northbridge chip, and a Southbridge chip,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

[ CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or simply Processor for short.
THIS is why a personal computer, should -> NOT be referred to as a 'CPU'. Shows ignorance, and is confusing ]

The Northbridge chip handles the Faster capabilities of a computer.
Processor, Ram Memory, and HIGH-speed graphics.

AGP, and PCI-Express are HIGH-speed graphics technology.

Integrated Graphics, and inserting a graphics card into a PCI slot; is NOT high-speed graphics.

The Southbridge chip handles the Slower capabilities of a computer.

1) Anything connected to the PCI bus. (One example is a graphics card inserted into a PCI slot, or Integrated Graphics )

2) Anything connected to the IDE bus.
3) Anything connected to the SATA bus
4) Anything connected to the USB bus
5) Ethernet
6) Audio (Sound)

Primer over.

The Southbridge chip is part of the -> Chipset

For additional questions, or to have me clarify anything stated above; please post back in a Comment.

I bought a compaq computer whose running system was already bad. I formated it, installed some running systems but non had a good resolution nor sound or video drivers.

Yeah, ya gotta chase down the drivers for each device from it's manufacturer's web site. Items like the motherboard, the video card, the sound card,,etc. Many motherboards have the video and audio chips built into the motherboard itself, so the mo-bo mfr would have all the drivers.

My sound card isn't recognised

  • no computer stated.
  • no operating system stated
  • or of connected to the internet
internal speakers or external?, you never said.
does the device manager show the sound chip? it must or the HP drivers are missing, (some take more lower level chips working first)
(yah complex and in the correct order installed)
with no red or yellow marks, ? DM colors>
be on the internet , right click, that sound chip and click update driver? curing said driver errors?

my guess, is there are other HP drivers missing or wrong.
Get the HP recovery kit for this LT? reinstalled unstated windows?
it could be virus infected and if it is, you will never get it right,
unless fresh loaded .
If this is XP it is a virus magnet, for now and eternity..

see this tag, see that name and number here, what do you have.
this is a service tag seen on all hp gear.

When C-Media USB Headset microphone is activated in preparation for dictation, I am getting an interference which is manifested as 'him' or a string of 'him him him him' in the word...

learn that when buying USB headsets it not just a headset
its that and a sound chip
and now you have 2 chip, one in pc, one in HS.
so they fight each other,
turn off the main sound and bingo the HS chip works.

that is why HP and MS dont support this. its horrific

we use it all the time, we have a nicer pc
with full sound card and fancy bundled sound software and a mixer
we click the mixer and shut off the onboard audio and then pick
the new USB chip, there.

there is no other way
unless going in to Device manger finding the onboard driver and disable it . sure easy.

you cant run two sound chips
same, time ,just like 2 mice. same. deal they go to logger heads fight.

I am not able to get AMD Sempron (tm) processor LE-1200 audio driver.....can u slove my problem..

Audio driver? For your processor? If anything has an integrated audio chip, then it's your motherboard. AMD has just come up with a technology that includes a graphics chip in their processors, but I've never heard that anyone got a sound chip there. So, check your motherboard model, then check the manufacturer's site for drivers, they must be there, available for free download!

No vga driver

If you can't manually search the driver that your video card needs, use driver magician to let an automatic search take place. I personally am using it for five years now. When you have installed driver magician to your computer every driver that your computer needs will be detected automatically by pressing update at the upper most selection box. You'll be able to find the description of your video card there. ati redeon pro. As of now i'm using the same brand of video card like your's. I used driver magician to search for it's driver over the internet, after selecting it and pressing download, i got the driver that i needed. Have a nice day friend and i was hoping for you to have the same result as mine.

Placed a chip into the slot on my computer how do I download to the computeer

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto on Mac or Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ) on Windows.

I need the acer monitor drivers for windows seven al1706a

As I'm sure you're aware Acer doesn't offer a specific driver for this monitor. However, any driver for your video card that offers a 1280 x 1024 screen resolution should work. What screen resolutions does your current driver offer? If you want to update your video driver download a newer video driver from the firm that made your video chip. You can find out what you've got by launching Device Manager. (click on the start button and type device manager into the search box) If you decide to update your video driver click on Display adapters entry in Device Manager and right click on the video chip entry that will emerge as a subgroup. Select update driver software from the choices displayed when you right click. Then tell it where the driver you've downloaded is located.

I need instructions for "can't

"To begin, the deck of cards is spread out. Each card contains a number, from 2 through 12. The player on turn rolls all four six sided dice. From the roll, players may combine two sets of two dice to make a number, placing chips on the matching turtle cards. For example, if a roll of 2, 3, 3 and 4 is rolled, a player may combine the 2 and 3 (to make 5) and the second 3 and 4 (to make 7) and place a chip on the 5 and 7 turtle cards respectively. An even better play would be to combine the 2 and 4 and both 3s to earn TWO chips on card number 6. A player may continue to roll and place chips as long as he is able to combine at least ONE combination that is still viable. When it a number not viable? When the matching number card is won and out of the game!
As a player rolls and chips mount on cards, a player may choose to stop and mark on the score sheet the number of chips he has placed on a particular card or cards. Should a player place the required number of chips on a card (an amount that varies from only two for cards 2 and 12 up to seven for card number 7), that player claims that card and both that card and number are now out of play. Should a player be unable to place a chip on a card on his turn, his turn is over and all chips placed on that turn are lost! The first player to successfully claim three cards wins the game!"
