Mostly you need to replace the whole keyboard

You need a new keyboard. If you are not under warranty, go to Ebay and search for Inspiron 1525 Keyboard, pick a seller with a good rating. You should be able to find one for under $20. They are not difficult to replace. you can download a repair manual for the 1525 from support.dell.com which will have a page with step by step instructions for popping the strip above the keyboard, undoing a couple of screws, and undoing/reconnecting the keyboard connector.

Some keys are not working on Starup (Random)

Your problem seems to be from the keyboard. Even if it looks good if the keyboard tape is out of whack or some key is no longer working, it can happen that you say, so I change the keyboard.

When I power the computer on, I'm getting an error message that says, windows could not complete the installation. To install windows, please complete installation and restart computer. How can I fix...

    • If the computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as the computer restarts. You must press the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you must restart and try again.

    1. In Advanced Boot Options, use the arrow keys to select Repair the computer, and then press ENTER. Click a keyboard layout in the list, and then click Next. Click a user name in the list, enter the password, and then click OK. In the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. When the repair process is complete, click Finish.
    2. Hope this works!

I have a hp desktop computer model number p6404y and when i was listening to my music i would usually just skip through songs using my fn key and pressing f8 to get to the next song, but when i press it...

    Hello Stanlee,
First we have to look is there any problem with the particular fn keys in your keyboard,
    - To do that go to 'Start > Accessories > Accessibility > On-Screen Keyboard,
    - Tey using the not owrking fn key in the 'On-Screen Keyboard'
    - If it work there is a problem with your keyboard, IF NOT

Was the issue occurred after doing any changes to the computer, try doing a system restore. Follow these steps:

    - Click Start, type 'system restore' in the Start Search box OR 'All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.
    -
    3. In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click Next.
    -
    Click Finish.
    -
The computer restarts, and the system files and settings are returned to the state that they were in at the time that the restore point was created.

    My system is automatically restarting

    Hi there,

Please make sure that all memory modules inside of the comouter are seated tightly.

If everything inside the computer seems intact and the computer still reboots try to go to safe mode and check if will do the same.

From shutdown, turn your computer on and start tapping the F8 key (F5 for some computers) when the menu appears choose either safe mode or safe mode with networking. check if the computer would still restart in that mode.

If it doesn't: press and hold the windows key on your keyboard then press the letter R, when the Run box comes up type in msconfig go to the services tab, tick Hide all Microsoft services and the click Disable All. Go back up to the tabs and click start up click Disable all then restart the computer.

If it still restarts in normal mode check if it's giving out a Blue Screen error.

If it still restarts in safe mode, shut the computer down and go to the BIOS.

From shutdown turn the computer on and start tapping F2 or Delete Key on your keyboard if both doesn't work check what key does your computer say to go to setup.

See wether if it will restart in the BIOS.

If it does, You may want to have the hardware parts of your computer checked.
If it doesn't my recommendation would be to reinstall yout operating system.

Hope you find these steps helpful!
