Why is my Series 1000 LT1024 Hydrostatic Drive Cub Cadet not pulling?

In most cases the hydrostatic drives are not made by the company tractor or lawnmower.
This is in the owners manual.

Hydrostatic Transmission
The hydrostatic transmission is sealed at the factory
and is maintenance free. The fluid level cannot be
checked nor can the oil be changed. Always keep the
area around the transmission cooling fan free of grass
and debris at all times

How can I override the auto shut down for a cub cadet?

There is a switch under the seat that has to make contact for the mower to start. I would not advise bypassing it though. A little WD-40 on the switch while working it uo and down will usually clean up the corrosion and get the switch working. If not then replace the switch. It should only cost five or six dollars.

My john deere 14sb mower starts but kills when I engage the blade

Check your safety seat switch. Unplug the wiring harness to the switch and place a paper clip into the harness. This will bypass the switch unless you have a continuity tester to test the switch.

Problem with left side hydrostatic transmission

This is a well documented problem with cub cadet ZT transmissions. They tend to go bad after 200 hours of use. Sometimes having the dealer change the transmission oil will help (they need to remove the transmissions to do this!). Most times, the transmission is gone & must be replaced ($800-$900).

Sound to me like a design defect. My ZT-50 lasted only 4 years. Needless to say, the replacement was not a cub cadet.

Cub Cadet tractor failure to move

Check the bypass for the transmission, make sure it is in all the way, if it is, check the belt from the engine to the transmission, make sure the belt tension spring is riding on the belt and that the belt is tight.
