Question about Maytag Dryers
The flame on my gas dryer will stay lit for about 15 seconds and then shut off. I've replaced both gas solenoid valves and no change. I've checked the following items for continuity: flame sensor, thermal sensor, high limit switch and cycling thermostat and everything checks out fine. I've cleaned out the vent and there are no obstructions in the vent line. I'm at a loss on what to try next.

replace the igniter. The ignitor is the most comon problem with gas appliances checking continuity does not tell you if it is bad or not it has to draw a certain amount of amps to open the gas safty valve and the is no safe way to check this on most gas dryers

Hi, A couple of things to look for. Check the 4" vent going to the outside and make sure there is clean. If that is ok, check to see if the blower duct inside the dryer is clean and make sure the blower wheel is turning properly. This model has a problem with the blower wheel coming loose on te motor shaft.
The flame is large because it is not being sucked past the limit switch.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

flame sensor is closed when dark, open with the ignitor light. Thermostat is closed when cold, open when reach temperture. Ignitor is a closed circut but high resistant value, put your meter on 10k. Also to the gas valve 110volts be carefull.
