How do you manually start the Samsung DMR77xxx dishwasher?

The dishwasher started on its own for a while. Now it doesn't. I don't understand. There are no buttons at all on the front of it.

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description, "clean light flashes " this is actually an error code as you may or may not know associated with the heating process. What typically happens is poor water circulation preventing the water from heating properly.

To resolve this, I'd start with the following...the wash pump area. You`ll need to follow these steps to clean it.

1 ) Remove the turbo wash tube if applicable to your model, it pulls off, i.e.
a6dcf7f.jpg

2 ) Spray arm removal. hold the center nut and spin the arm.
f634f7c.jpg
3 ) Now you can remove the upper spray arm supply tub or referred to sometimes as "rear feed cap".
a ) lift to depress the rear tab, i.e.
87fb0d6.jpg
b ) Then twist the feeder to the right ( clockwise ), i.e.
5f19a61.jpg
4 ) Now you can remove the center nut...

333a8e1.jpg

Then remove the four # 20 torx head screws holding the filter in place, and lift the filter out.

Below the filter you`ll find food debris, undissolved detergent etc, but also a cover with a single #10 torx head screw to remove and the cover will pull straight up and out. the arrows from left to right in the image indicate...

1) screw location
2) tab to pull up on
3) the latch you may need to twist to the left to remove the cover
i.e.
macmarkus_416.jpg
Now you should see the chopper and screen assembly, it too can be clogged up pretty bad, clean it best you can...you don`t really want to remove this part.

If my explanation is not clear enough, here`s a link which provides a pretty good video of how to do this, these guys aren`t pro`s but the "how to" video is pretty thorough nonetheless.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRCCrEwrst8&NR=1

Once these actions have been performed you'll need to clear the error code. to do so is as follows.
Press the following buttons in this sequence...

HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL

This diagnostic cycle may take approx. 15-20 minutes to complete. Let it proceed through to completion and you should be good to go...unless the heater itself is at fault or a wire has vibrated loose from the heater...those are steps to follow if OR when necessary.

Let me know how you make out, please keep me informed if you need further assistance or anything is unclear. Please take a moment to rate me assistance and a short testimony is appreciated as well.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Hi

The control board seems to be bad and should be replaced. However, before replacing the board you can test the door switch located next to the control board, if it tests fine then replace the board. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

SOURCE: I can't get the control panel to reset. The

II might need the actual model number. However, you can go to page 9 on this manual and check if the flashing options can fix the problem. I am assuming you have already tried to turn the power off and back on.

The ohter thing to try is the reset sequence. Within 6-7 secs press High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry. All lights should light up, press Start button to exit.

Hi Colin, I need to find a manual for my dishwasher. Its aMatsui M12FDW09 any advice would be great thanks. Dishwasher start to make strange noise and the water is not coming through to start the first ...

Hi Colin,

Please click the link below to download the manual for the Matsui M12FDW09:

http://www.partmaster.co.uk/company/partmaster/manuals/M12FDW09_IB_GB_FINAL_091110.pdf

The manual is in English. Please ignore the Japanese text on the cover. Unfortunately, it's unlikely having the manual will help you identify the cause of the fault.

I'm assuming the flashing light you are referring to is numbered 1 in the control panel diagram on page 2 (the 5th page of the PDF manual). This light simply indicates the dishwasher is in the pre-rinse stage of the wash cycle. Your description suggests the solenoid has failed, so the water inlet valve isn't opening and no water is entering the dishwasher.

I only repair Matsui washers on call-out as they are a Dixon's Stores Group (DSG) only brand in the UK, so I don't see that many of them and can't get service manuals. I can diagnose and fix them when they're in front of me, but I couldn't tell you from memory how to get access to the components and test them.

I hope this helps you a little, even though it doesn't really solve your problem.

Regards, BElectric

Dishwasher will not drain

Hello there and welcome to fixya
Please check the following carefully
Drain line/air gap A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again. Pump Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support. Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller. The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port. These components make up the pump. If any of the pump components are defective, you need to replace them. Drain valve and/or solenoid Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drain valve diverts the water. Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing. Belt One brand of dishwasher uses a belt to drive the pump. If this belt is broken or has fallen off, replace it. Motor If the motor isn't turning or working, the unit won't drain. First check to be sure you have power to the dishwasher. If not, see the section "It doesn't work at all." If the motor hums but doesn't turn, it may need to be replaced. Some dishwashers are susceptible to getting stuck if you don't run them regularly. If you haven't run the dishwasher for more than a week, you may need to manually spin the motor to free it up. If the motor is defective, you need to replace it. Dishwasher motors can't be serviced. Timer Part of what the timer does is control the motor and drain valve. If the timer doesn't work properly, the water may not drain and you need to replace the timer. This problem is uncommon.

Older model dishwasher doesn't drain at the begin of cycle or turn on water. The timer seems to work all the way through turning off and on at each function and the fan seems to work alright.

Hello, welcome to FixYa. I understand you have a Maytag dishwasher based on your post, correct ? If so could you post a reply with the model number of this machine and I'll see what I can find for you. There were some recalls on Maytag units a while back, but I don't want to speculate...it's better to wait for the model number, in fact a serial number as well would be even more beneficial. I look forward to your reply and assisting you going forward. I hope you can appreciate there are many scenarios even within the "Maytag" brand. Thank you. Regards, Macmarkus :)

The second led is flashing. Water did nit drain at first. Then drained. Cannot press the start/reset button, nothing happens. Sounds like the pump was working, now doesn't seem to be. Help!!!

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

We have a samsung dmr77xxx dishwasher and it keeps getting a 9E error and stopping> what is causing this error? thank you

Most 9E error codes are caused by a sticky float located on the LHS of the dishwasher. You can sometimes do a temporary 'fix' by 'thumping' the left panel inside the dishwasher (towards the bottom).

I have a Samsung DMR57LF that is maybe 19 months old. The top sprayer arm falls off during cleaning. It snaps back on, but doesn't stay on. How do I fix this?

Hi

The issue seems to be with the plastic part located on the connector that clips into the arm that is falling, if that is broke you have to replace it, in a 19 months old dishwasher I don't think that the arm can go bad. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
