Question about Intel Essential DG41WV Desktop Motherboard - Intel Chipset BLKDG41WV
My brother uses DG41WV desktop board with Intel Dual Core 3.0GHz E5700 processor & 2 GB DDR3 RAM. The PC has SMPS of 450 Watt ATX-P4. When turning on the machine by pressing Power Switch, the processor fan, on-board LED & HDD LED of chasis is turned on but there is no beep sound in in-built speaker & also there is no video in Monitor whether it is connected to VGA port of the board or to the VGA Card. I found all other components like HDD, RAM, Processor, VGA Card & SMPS are in ok condition. The PC was running till last Monday. I checked the parts in different machines. Then, I cleared the CMOS but the problem still exists. Now, what should I do to solve this problem? Please help...
As you have checked all of the removable components. That only leaves one bit left. The motherboard. Check the capacitors around the CPU socket and the Power connector. There is a common problem with Socket 775 CPU it is that the contacts on the CPU socket can be badly connected even when the CPU is fitted and locked in.

If you don't already have a case speaker hooked up to the board, you might want to connect one since there isn't an on board speaker and you will not hear error beeps otherwise.
Also, if you have another non-phenom AM2 processor handy you should really update the BIOS to latest release. Many late model Phenoms will not work on motherboards that have earlier BIOS releases and you will not be able to post. You should then choose "Set Optimized Defaults" and save the bios without any changes then shut down (not reset). When you power on again it should post and you should be able to get into the BIOS.
A third thing you can try (after you get a case speaker hooked up) is using a cheap pair of ddr2-6400 RAM to get the board to post so you can get into BIOS and change the voltage to the correct settings for your RAM if it requires a higher voltage than the bios expects.

What about the power supply? I bet it's supply's issue. Otherwise make sure that PWR button wires are connected properly and to the correct terminals of the motherboard

check the ram to know if it is actually working or sitting properly.......check the VGA port...........try another monitor on your board........lastly try the monitor on another board and if it works you board is bad
