How do I unprotect pics on a 0lympus c-765

As it was the camera that put the protection on ..You need to put the card into the camera..And ..UN-TICK each one to unprotect them...The idea of the protected photos is so you cant erase them when you format the card.

How to unlock a photo in camara

The protect function allows a user to protect a picture from accidental deletion. To unprotect a picture on your camera, scroll to the protected picture that you want to delete, then press the Menu button (the button to the right of the Play button.) Scroll down the menu and you should come to an option that allows you to Protect/Unprotect the picture. Since your picture is currently protected, deselect that option. You should then be able to delete the picture normally.

Alternatively, you could also format the memory card, however this deletes ALL photos and data you have on the memory card. If you are trying to completely clear the memory, this is the best way. After turning on your camera, simply press the Menu button, scroll to Setup, then scroll down to Format. Select Format, it will ask you if you want to format the memory card, or the camera's built-in memory. Format whichever one you want to clear, if you are using a memory card then your pictures are stored on the memory card. It will take a few seconds to format.

Hope this helps.

Photo is locked on camara unable to remove key symbol

I don't think there's a single manufacturer that makes this clear. But let me tell you their little secret... whatever you did to protect it - do it again. It's a toggle function! They wouldn't want to put "protect/unprotect" in the menu system instead of just "protect", it might look 'cluttered'. Of course, it might be more useful too.

I have 600 photos on my camera and I want to delete all photos. At the moment the photos are protected files, I can unprotect each photo and then delete but thiswould take me ages. Why can I not unprotect...

If you want to delete ALL your pictures, the easiest and best way is to format the card. In fact, the card should be formatted each time you finish downloading your pictures to your computer. FixYa is full of people asking how to retrieve pictures from cards that haven't been formatted regularly.

Hi, i have a problem with my card. It says that the memory card is "protected". I am unable to take any photos or delete any photos. I am unsure of how it became "protected" Can you tell me how to...

On the side of your card, there's a very small notch/switch that moves up and down. It can be bumped into the "lock" position which prevents writing to the disk. You need to switch this little tab back to the other position. This is a standard feature on most/all flash memory cards.

I cant delete file protected photos on my camera Cybershot dsc-s750

Please unprotect the images and try to delete the files. I have attached the Manual of the Camera where you can get the instructions to unprotect the images.

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCS750_handbook.pdf

Please refer to page # 43 of the above Manual to unprotect the images.

Cant do anything the padlock sign is on and I dont know how to remove it so I can upload my pics to pc thanks averil, greece

It sounds like you have put the photo's into a protected state.
According to Pentax guides, you may have inadvertantly set it to protect all photo's. To release this you need to:

Set the mode dial to >
Press the key/padlock sign button twice
Select Unprotect using the 4 way control pad
Press ok.

To unprotect a single photo

Set the mode dial to > and select the individual photo
Press the key padlock sign button once
Select Unprotect using the 4 way control pad
Press ok.

Hope that helps!

Protection problem

Easy solution:

1) Put the sd card into your computer
2) Copy all the photos to your computer. User Windows Explorer to just drag the folders from the card.
3) Format the card

If you insist on having the photos back on the card, then just copy them back to the card using Windows Explorer reversing step 2.

Unprotecting pictures

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/tutorials/v1073/index.jhtml Go to the picture you protected in your review. (that's the Arrow Play Button) Find the photo then press the menu button. (that's the second button down out of the three that are back there) A menu will appear on the screen, over the top of the photo you want to unprotect. Tap the down arrow, once. You'll see Protect in the list. By tapping it you can turn on and off the protect on your photos. The link above is the Kodak site that runs a small demo on how to do this.
