Replace the battery in the remote control, clean the emitter lens on the remote control, and clean the face of your receiver. Should solve the problem.

At power up, tv scrolls uncontrolably through channels, power light flickers

1. Take remote control far away from tv - 3rd or fourth room. Then switch on tv. If uncontrollable scrolling stops , then cause may be remote button (Ch+ or Ch-) has got dirt inside and its shorting.

2. If taking remote far away doesn't stop scrolling then (Ch+ or Ch-) button on front pannel has shorted. Take a cutter plier and care fully remove button from its circuit board. ( If you know desoldering, it is far better than cutting). If scrolling stops then you can operate channel change with remote.

Envirastation model dws 170

Usually it is due to bad batteries or remote is too far away from home unit. Put units next to each other and press the channel button on front of the home unit. It will start a search to find the remote. If it finds it with a temp reading press the channel button again and you should hear a beep. Channel is locked in. If you still do not get a temp reading try changing batteries in both units and try again. Another try is to unplug the home unit and wait several minutes with no batteries in either house unit or remote. Replace batteries in remote then in house unit and plug back into power. Set all settings and see if you get the reading. If not try step one again. Weak batteries will do the same thing as well as remote to far away from unit.

Sounds like the unit itself may have blown a fuse and that's why it's not responding to the remote control. Have an alarm installer, or if you know how to, check the fuses on the unit to see if they're blown.

Make sure if you have a mercury switch not to park on the hill because the mercury inside the switch is going to make contact like the hood is open, if not put attention if this happen only when is windy, check the engine and trunk pin switch.

The Caravan crank sensors are really touchy, if it is too close to the flywheel it wont start, and if its too far away it wont start, i would say you just out of range there, also make sure your shift selector harness is pluged in or it wont start. hope this helps

I bought a used dodge pickup equiped with a viper remote system,it worked fine until the last few days now Iam unable to start the vehicle with the key and keep it running.I took out the battery from...

On many of the Viper models, the symptom you are describing is because the remote battery is low. The remote can't be too far from the vehicle. If it is, the system see it as you forgot about the vehicle being remote started, and shuts it back down. A weak battery creates a weak signal and makes the unit 'think' you are far away. The Viper website has instructions on how to disable the whole system, there are many different versions, so find the box and get the model number from it, you will need that to get any further.

I have a viper 5900 car alarm installed with remote start.

Look under dash for a small black box with wires coming out of it, about 2 or 3 inches rectangular.. there should be one or two screws on it. Look to see if it says which direction to turn for sensitivity. As far as not receiving, you need a new antenna, this is covered under warranty through DEI either bring back to where you purchased or look online and see where the closest dealer is to you...
