One of the function keys (not certain which) mutes (and unmutes) the audio. Should have an icon picture of a speaker with a line through it. Alternately, on your taskbar there could be a similar icon... click to toggle. Another option... go to control panel, sound, and unmute. I hope this helps.
You might be able to use the integrated "mute" button on your keyboard. Try clicking it once to see if it toggles it unmuted.
Otherwise, check your sound icon in your taskbar--in the lower right hand corner of your screen there should be an icon of a speaker, click it and make sure that it's turned up and not down.

You need to update your sound drivers,to do this go to start menu on your computer and type in the word "device manager",select it from a list of options and click on it you will see a list of components/devices that are working with your computer select the "sound" component.
Click on it and you will see your sound driver, right click the sound driver and you will see a list of options select "update driver software" this automatically search for updates, download them and install it in your computer.
You will have to restart your system for the update to work properly.
open the advanced controls on the audio tray icon or go to control panel - audio and sound devices - choose the advanced audio control option and if any are muted, unmute them and if all are unmuted then click on the menu (top left) go to options/preferences then tick all boxes save then check advanced audio again. If its still muted it may be your driver.
U should check the line in volume. go to control panel-sound and audio-recording devices-line in properties-and then unmute from here. If already unmuted then check out that ur microphone properties has enable listen audio on ur speakers.
When did sound work fine last time ??
Did you make any specific changes ??
Check if it is set to mute... if it is unmute it..
To unmute it-- you can click the little icon at the task bar at the bottom of your screen -- clear the box and see if it works..
If everything seems ok do the following :--
Go to control panel - click on sound devices option - see if all the options are greyed out -- if it is then you need to reinstall the sound drivers ..
You can let me know your computer model number and i'll paste a link for you so that you can download the driver...
Is there any mute/unmute or volume control on the GPS? If so, is the mute/unmute function unmuted, and is the volume all the way up? If you have already checked this stuff, then would say that the device is bad (in which case you can probably send it back to Magellan for a replacement) or the speaker was somehow disconnected( in which case you can't fix it). Has the audio ever worked?
