RC 392M remote doesn't work

Okay, i was a college student and my last year in school one of my **** roommates had a party, didn't move my stuff in advance and someone spilled beer all over my RC 392M remote. It hasn't worked since (2 years ago). I am just now trying to take it apart to see if some contact cleaner will make it work again. The problem is that I don't know how to get it apart. I have removed the three exposed screws, and have been able to pry apart the bottom half of the remote (where the batteries are) but it appears that it wont give on the top end, and I think there is a tab or something hanging me up. Can anyone help me figure out how to crack the baby open without cracking it in half? Thanks, Ryan

Actually, I have fixed the problem. I asked somebody at work how to take these remotes apart and they found basic instructions on how to take remotes apart (apparently most of them are very similar). It involved a lot of prying, etc, and I busted a tab or two, but I got it off. Then I went after it with a bunch of contact cleaner and Q tips and basically cleaned all of the dried beer off of it, and it is now back to normal. I wish I remembered the website, but I don't. I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to find again if anyone else needs to do it. Thanks for the help, and hopefully this will help anyone in future problems.

The send/learn light on my RC-392M remote decided to stay on, all the time, and it no longer functions. Pushing any button causes the light to go off as long as the button is depressed but the receiver won't respond. It seems as though one of the buttons is stuck in the "on" position. I removed the batteries and went through the all-code erase procedure but that won't work either. It looks like a new controller is prohibitively expensive and I don't really want to try a generic universal remote. Suggestions?

They usually just snap together, but whatever's been spilled in it may be binding it like glue. Try flexing it by twisting and bending to break the "beverage goo glue"

Is college actually worth the time and money?

It depends on what job you want in life. Some jobs require a college degree, and usually (not all the time) they are better pay in the long run. But the long run is around 11 years to make more money than you would have been for working a non degree job for those 15 years and not paying for college. Both ways are not wrong. There are plenty of people who live full and happy lives without going to college, and plenty who do the same with a college degree. If you want to keep working you could also apply as a part time student and just take a couple of classes a semester. The main idea is to do something you are passionate about and that's how you can be successful.

I don't know what Facebook means it says 2 people were together

Facebook is an online social networking service headquartered in Menlo Park, California. Its name comes from a colloquialism for the directory given to students at some American universities.[6] Facebook was founded on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.[7] The founders had initially limited the website's membership to Harvard students, but later expanded it to colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities and later to their high-school students. Facebook now allows anyone who claims to be at least 13 years old worldwide to become a registered user of the website, although proof is not required.[8]
After registering to use the site, users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, exchange messages, post status updates and photos, and receive notifications when others update their profiles. Additionally, users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics, and categorize their friends into lists such as "People From Work" or "Close Friends". Facebook had over one billion active users as of September 2012,[9] of which approximately 9% were fake.[10] By that point, Facebook was adding about half a petabyte of data every 24 hours, amounting to about 180 petabytes per year.[11] Due to the large volume of data collected about users, the service's privacy policies have faced scrutiny, among other criticisms. Facebook, Inc. held its initial public offering in February 2012 and began selling stock to the public three months later, reaching a peak market capitalization of $104 billion.

What is facebook?

Facebook is a social networking service launched in February 2004, owned and operated by Facebook, Inc. As of September 2012, Facebook has over one billion active users, more than half of them using Facebook on a mobile device. Users must register before using the site, after which they may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics, and categorize their friends into lists such as "People From Work" or "Close Friends".

Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin,Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The website's membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities before opening to high school students, and eventually to anyone aged 13 and over. However, according to a May 2011 Consumer Reports survey, there are 7.5 million children under 13 with accounts and 5 million under 10, violating the site's terms of service.

A January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as the most used social networking service by worldwide monthly active users. Entertainment Weekly included the site on its end-of-the-decade "best-of" list, saying, "How on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our co-workers' birthdays, bug our friends, and play a rousing game of Scrabulous before Facebook?"Critics, such as Facebook Detox, state that Facebook has turned into a national obsession in the United States, resulting in vast amounts of time lost and encouraging narcissism. Quantcast estimates Facebook has 138.9 million monthly unique U.S. visitors in May 2011.According to Social Media Today, in April 2010 an estimated 41.6% of the U.S. population had a Facebook account.Nevertheless, Facebook's market growth started to stall in some regions, with the site losing 7 million active users in the United States and Canada in May 2011.

The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by some university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other. Facebook allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the site.
