Model # 043-5443-4 Air conditioner problem

My air conditioner is continually beeping and the temperature is going up and down all by itself. The remote doesn't seem to be working to fix it and I have tried unplugging the air conditioner and plugging it back in. Also, the buttons on the air conditioner itself aren't controlling it either, any suggestions on what to do, I no longer have the manual

SOURCE: Kelvinator Split System Air Conditioner not turning on.

On some remotes there is a reset button which is pressed by using the nib of a pen. Or if this does not work you should look under the cover for a manual button, most units have one, and see if the aircon responds. I suspect your remote sensor is faulty, but try the previous suggestions first.

Why does my unit beep and turn on by itself with a 0.5 in the led

Sounds like it is made to react to humidity as well as temperature. Check to see if there is a setting for that, or perhaps it is supposed to come on to protect itself from moisture. Do you notice ice cold air coming out when it does that, or is it just regular ''air''. If just regular ''air'', and if it does also blow _cold_ when working at the temp you set it at, then I am probably right about humidity... which means this is normal.

WHY DOES MY FRIGIDAIRE AIR CONDITIONER SLEEP BUTTON KEEPS BEEPING?

I appreciate your post, Tamara Brazile!
I see that your sleep button on your Frigidaire air conditioner continues to beep. Do you see any error codes on your air conditioner? Additionally, could you please provide me with your model number? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the outside frame of your air conditioner or under the front panel. With that additional information I can further assist you. -Matt

We have a portable air conditioner. It keeps

Follow the steps below....

1. Power down the air conditioner using the "power" button on the front
panel.
2. Unplug the air conditioner from the wall socket.
3. Hold the front panel "power" button down and plug the air
conditioner in. Continue to hold the power button down as the machine
goes through a brief test sequence (fan & compressor each come on
briefly, etc). There is a "beep" sound at the end of the test sequence,
and the machine will be off. At this point, you can release the power
button.
4. Unplug the air conditioner.
5. Plug the air conditioner back in.
6. Congratulations! You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

If you have the error code E1 on the LED temperature display. This error code is intended as a reminder for the user to clean the air filter every 720 hours . I have a sharp and I don't know what model you have but you may check the manufacturers web site for a instruction book but on my unit you have to do the following

You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

after following this procedure to clear the nefarious E1 indication, you should obtain
another 720 hours of cooling bliss

AC changes temperature by itself!

If it's not some sort of built in economizing feature, someone else isn't getting up and changing the temperature while you are asleep and the air conditioner fairy is playing tricks, then the control PCB is in need of repair and will have to be repaired through a sears authorized repair center.
I am a bit surprised that it will allow you to set the temperature to a low 70 degrees as this is pushing the limits of an air conditioner. They tend to freeze the coils at around that temperature.
