Question about MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR (MS-6570-030) Motherboard
Hia im stuck realy stuck and probberbly to my own fault heres the story i have a MSI K7n2 Delta L/ilsr barton 2.8+ ATI X700 agp Maxtor 80gb Sata hard drive cd/dvd & floppy ok so im trying to install windows XP back on my sata drive problem being at the moment Ubuntu Fietsy Fawn + Beryl is on it and refuses to move!! wht have i tryed? 1) i put the xp disk in and booted setup got my sata driver floppy disk out and pushed f6 selected them 1 at a time to instal hit enter and it said cant find hard drives 2) i put the xp disk in and booted setup got my sata driver floppy disk out and pushed f6 selected them both together for instal hit enter and it said cant find hard drives 3) found out somthing about GRUB and it writing a code on the hard drive so i tryed to boot off a dos disk and typed the old fixmbr and the old Fdisk but still to no avail just said not found blarr blarr blarr 4) put in the ubuntu setup disk and tryed letting it format the hard drive in its partishon bit then harshly switching it off at the plug when it got tht far and still it didnt get rid of the thing so here i am there is a new hard drive on its way sata again but im wondering if anyone knows anything about how to make this hard drive work on windows again THANKS TO ANNYONE WHO CAN HELP XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Boomshanka

Does the BIOS on your system see the drive and show it's model information? Is this the only drive on the system? If the answer is yes for both, then you can download free utilities from the web to wipe the drive clean. This will result in the loss of all existing data on your drive. You can search for "Wipe Disk" and will get several hits for free software. Once you have cleaned the drive, try instlling XP. If the BIOS does not see your drive, the XP can't see it. You may want to try other SATA ports on your motherboard, or try changing the IDE configuration in the BIOS. Let me know if this works.
