Your Constant (Yellow) and your Power (red are not suppose to be connecting to the same wires... Easiest way to fix, test the wires with a voltage meter, find a wire that is hot( always with power no lose of power when car is on/off that is your CONSTANT wire where you would plug you constant wire on(yellow which will keep your time/ memory saved) then plug the Red where it is( since you know it is not a contant(always hot with votage when car is on/off) this will make sure when you turn your car off your radio will turn off BUT still save memory due to you having your constant pluged into a REAL constant wire that has voltage at all times. Re: don't keep memeory
Hi... your stereo has 2 power wires. Typically One is yellow and the other is red. Both should have power with the key on. Only one should have power with the key off..
the most common causes for what you are describing are either no constant power to the radio on one of the wires or you have the red and yelow wires switched around...

You do not need a code to play CD's in a Panasonic CQ-C7301U. The player handles the standard CD format and also plays burned CD's in WMA or MP3 formats. However, burned CD's in WMA format that contain copyrighted music are not playable. In this case the display will show "PROTECTED".
You are on the right track. Those "little metal things" come in handy. Ensure you have removed any necessary aftermarket plastic framing. Many times with the new deck kits, we need to insert the plastic framing. Slide the tool on the side of the deck itself, so look carefully and be sure not yank on the deck. Let me know where you are at.
you have wires grounding out at the back of the unit. i suggest trying to completely rewire it and see how that works. its easy if youve never done an install so dont sweat it. email me if you have any questions.
