Question about Plantronics 510 Voyager Headset - PLN-510 Headset

Boom Mic is broken

My son cranked the boom in the wrong direction and broke the boom mic connection. I am sure that I can fix it, if I can open it. I tried various methods to open the boom so that I can access the wires within, but have not been successful as yet. I am scared that if I apply more pressure I will certainly break it. Please help or point me to the right direction. It would be nice if someone can provide pictures on how to open it or a service manual. Thanks soo much

My head set seems to be fine ,but the mic. is not working is there a way I can dismantal it and chk to see if I can fix it on my own?

I had the same problem. Upon close inspection of the wire that comes out of the boom mic, I found that it was frayed and if manipulated I could get some function out of it. I took off the speaker on the boom side, the one screw holding the boom and the circuit board so I had a little more freedom to move the components around on the desk.

The thing that stumped me for awhile was how to take the boom apart because the wire damage was partially inside the boom. It took a great deal of force, but with a knife I got it to snap apart. Then the wire repair. This wire is an inner core and outer casing. I did not have any spare to replace the whole thing, so I carefully separated the strands from the two conductor 'streams'. I did a hack solder job which required the wire to be shorter, but there was enough slack to do that. The boom has some in and out adjustment, so I put it all the way in to help make up for the shorter wire. I did not make enough room to use shrink wrap, so I had to use tape to insulate between the two.

I tested it in it's disassembled state and it worked, so that is good until I find some similar wire to replace the whole strand. I wont move the mic up and down as that was the source of the original fatigue even though the mute function on mic up wasn't working so I did not use it often anyway.

Moto H715 microphone doesn't work

Had the same problem and tried all solutions offered on the internet. Mute is off, wire's are not broke, mic is not obstructed.... Called Motorola and they are sending a replacement since the unit is less than one year old. They are sending me the H780 model since the H715 is out of stock. Call 800-331-6456. I can not figure out how to put in discovery mode when turning on

close the mic and hold down the button until it becomes purple. Open the mic and it should stay steady lit purple. Then you can pair it with your phone. I found the manual online because I had lost mine as well. Also, make sure any old phone you were using it with is off so it does not connect with that one. Good luck!

How do i connect motorola hs850 with lgcu720 (shine)

Make sure the book mike is closed, then press the button until the light changes color. Once it changes color, open the boom mike. Now the earpiece is in pairing mode.

Purple light will not stay lit

I signed up JUST because this solution worked:

"Hmm this may sound like a stupid solution that doesnt work but what i did is...,

#1 I Held the button to make the violet light go on
#2 when the violet light is on dont just flip the boom mic, flip* the earpiece with it.

*note: when fliping the mic and earpiece, dont open slowly, flip it open fast and keep it there." I do want to note that my passcode was reset to nothing during my 3 months of troubleshooting.

Not going to mess with it.

Motorola H700 bluetooth "transmit" problem

This is how I fixed the same problem on mine. I wear it outdoors all the time and it probably got wet and deteriorated the foam on the mic.

First, turn on your bluetooth on your phone.
Flip the boom mic on your H700 and hold down the call button for 5 seconds.
The indicator light should be purple. That means it is in pairing mode.
Then using your phone, attempt to connect to your H700.
It'll ask for a passkey. The default passkey is 0000.

My headset wil not turn purple after holding it for 5 seconds

You need to hold down the call button before opening the mic. Once it turns purple immediatly open the mic. If you wait too long to open the mic after it turns purple it will turn blue or just go out.
