SOURCE: Metrologic Keyboard Wedge Barcode Scanner (MS5145)

I found a solution. The scanners needed to be reset to default. (via the manual) Thx anyway. Didn't know they could be configured for use without a kboard... That definately bit me once.

SOURCE: My RS-232 scanner beeps at the bar code but nothing appears on-screen.

The "Beep" just means that the scanner has been presented with a valid barcode. (nothing more) The scanner has probably not been set up correctly as this is a common issue. the settings need to be set correctly for your environment. you should have a code book with some bar codes in (part of the manual) which can set all the options within the scanner, There is an option to recall defaults here is the electronic manual ftp://ftp.metrologic.com/pub/download/productmanuals/00-02544.pdf

SOURCE: Can't even start Metrologic voyager 9520

The MS9520 with RS232 needs the AC adapter plugged in to operate, the adapter plugs into the serial cable at the plastic "bulge". Cable part number is 53000c-3
Hope this helps, Terry @ TAG Technical INC

SOURCE: Locked Metrologic MS9520-37 (keyboard wedge) after unintentional programming

You programmed it for usb interface, but the scanner is keyboard wedge. Try pointing the scanner at the "recall defaults" barcode in the manual as you plug the scanner back in.

C-3c50

C3C50 at power up.

PROBABLE CAUSES:

1. Loose connectors or failed PWB-C board.
Reseat all connectors and then replace PWB-C board (p\n 65FA-9360) if necessary.

2. Poor connection for the interface cable between the MFP and scanner.

Reseat the MFP-to-scanner interface cable its a large molex cable with thumb screws to remove on the outside of case.(p/n 4581-6876-01).

3. Failed PWB-F board.

Replace PWB-F board (p/n 4025-0103-27). Flash MFP with most current firmware. The latest version firmware or system software is available via the Konica Minolta Download if you need help with this write me back.

4. Incorrect scanner serial number.

Access service mode and select System Input. Verify the correct scanner serial number has been input under Serial # Input.this is in Service mode. if you need help with this write me back

Attach DS3407 to PC

ø Locate the serial connector on the bar code scanner. Bar code scanners, like other peripherals, connect to the computer by way of a data cable. At the end of the serial cable should be a rectangular, typically male connector. The cable may be pinned with nine, sixteen, or more pins depending on the design of the scanner.

?? Locate the serial port on the computer. Most computers have at least one serial port, usually found on the back of the machine. The port will be female, maybe blue in color, rectangular in shape, and should be approximately the same size (or slightly smaller) as the serial connector.

?? Connect the serial cable to the computer or connected peripheral. When both the connector and port have been identified, push the serial connector firmly but gently into the port. Like USB connectors, serial connectors are keyed so that they can only be inserted the correct way; if you feel solid resistance while inserting the connector, remove the connector from the port, turn it over and plug it in. Do not use excessive force while pushing on the serial connector, as it is possible to bend the connecting pins and damage the connector.

?? Install bar-code reading software. While the bar code scanner can scan the bar code into the machine, software must interpret the meaning of the code. Bar code scanners, if purchased new, should include a version of proprietary bar code software compatible with your specific scanner. If your scanner did not come with software, or if it is missing the installation disc, bar code software may be purchased on the Internet from sites like WaspBarcode.com.

Laser scanner cable connectors are faulty or laser scanner assembly is defective Most likly it is the laser/scanner assembly. The motor is probably not spinning at the right speed. You would need to find an old hp 4 no longer working and switch the laser/scanner. It is the "black box" located under the top cover. You would need to remove the right side cover, the top cover, the left side cover and the output assembly. Remove all the cables from the scanner retaining clips. Remove the three cables plugged into the scanner and remove the four screws attaching the scanner to the frame. When replacing the scanner make sure the shutter control arm on the left front side of the scanner is attached correctly so that the shutter closes when the toner cartiridge is removed. You could first try to remove the 3 connnectors and reset them.

I buy the one but there is no cd driver can it go without driver

hi :
Your PSC QuickScan 6000 should not require any drivers. If this unit plugs into your keyboard port, you should be able to scan a barcode and view the data results in a text editor, such as Notepad. This technology is called "Keyboard Wedge" and consists of a cable with three ends. The first is plugged into your hand-held scanner. The second and third are rather close together and are at the end of the cable. This cable is called a "Y" cable because it resembles the uppercase letter "Y". The bottom part of the "Y" plugs into your scanner, while the first upper part plugs into your computer. The second upper part of the "Y" should be a female plug, allowing you to plug your keyboard into it.

Now if you are using a Keyboard Wedge scanner with a USB keyboard, the female end of the "Y" cable would not have anything plugged into. Unfortunately, the scanner will most likely not operate properly if no keyboard is attached to the keyboard port.

I suspect you may have an RS232 or "serial" scanner. Does your scanner have a power supply that plugs into a standard wall outlet? If so, you may have a serial interface scanner. You could use a program called Com to Keyboard, which would convert RS232 or "serial" data into keyboard data. This is a free program, however, it is a resource hog and may slow your system down

Uniden bcd996t

Hello wfd88,

You need a copy of Uniden Advanced Scanner Director software. You can download the software from http://www.uniden.com in the Customer Service Downloads link.
Also, as a reminder, you need to use the cable supplied with the scanner and, if I recall correctly has a Uniden custom connector on one end and a serial connector on the other. If you do not have such a cable, Uniden sells a USB to Serial converter under the model USB-1.
If, during transfer, you get an error message, reduce the scanner’s serial port speed setting and start again until you get reliable, complete transfer of data.
Let me know if this helps.
