If you plug your Zen to a PC and connect to the autodetect feature of Creative Labs at the below link you then can download the manual, use the knowledgebase, read the FAQ and even update the firmware and drivers for it. http://support.creative.com/downloads/SoftwareAutoUpdate.aspx I hope I helped you Regards, PDG
The red light means that your zen stone needs to be charged or that it is fully charged. If it plays music it is fine. If it doesn't turn on and has a red light try charging it.
Just tried this on a zen stone with speaker and worked. Connect your zen stone to your computer. When the green light is on, use a paper clip and press and hold the reset button (small hole on the headphone jack side). The green light should turn off. Wait a bit and it should start blinking to indicate it is now charging. Note: This reset only worked when I had it connected to the computer.
I have had the problem of the completely dead player after having it for less that an day. No response to any buttons, no response when plugged into USB to charge, and Windows sees it as an "unknown device" when plugged into the PC. It tried the reset hole, and still nothing.
Then I tried connecting it to the PC to charge and then using the reset hole. Success - the player sprang back to life, fully charged. Hope this helps someone.
