Question about Garmin echoMAP 50s with Transducer
I just installed my new Garmin echomap 50. Man is this a nice unit. However I used it for the 1st time on the water but it keeps cutting on and off. What might the problem be
I am having the same issue with the 50s. Just bought it last month and when sitting fishing, in sonar mode, screen goes grey, not black which indicates off, but grey. No pushing of buttons can make the screen come back. When the power is disconnected, fuse pulled, the screen goes black and turns off. I then have to wait a few minutes to re-start the unit. It will work fine for a time and then repeat the process. Garmin support suggested low battery voltage but I am not sure how that is possible when the screen goes grey and then resets.
I am also experinecing the flashing when travelling at speed. The transducer is mounted in the same spot the old Gamin depth finder was mounted and I had not issue then.
Anyone have suggestions?
