Question about Royal WES600 Wireless Speaker System

Open Question

Connect I have the amplifier connected to the "audio out" red & white ports on the back of my Samsung HD TV. I have both speakers plugged in (with batteries in each, also) & about 10 feet from the amplifier. I have green lights on the front of each speaker, as well as on the amplifier. The antenna is installed on the top of the amplifier as well. I have tried both channels & scanned repeatedly, but I have yet to receive any signal on the speakers. How do I get these things to work???

How to connect tv, direct tv box, and home theater together properly ?

Hi Vincent

That would be a heap of detail to go into. Time consuming...

Hopefully this quick pointer might help.

What is HDMI
High Definition MultiMedia Interface

Note the word MultiMedia
This Means....Both HD Video & Sound through the one cable.

HDMI is the latest state of the art connection.
Use this wherever possible. It's made for High Definition
More Convenient

Use a HDMI cable from one device to the other wherever both devices have that port type (connector).

You don't have to pay a premium ridiculous price for HDMI Cables as in the Monster type. Overpriced.
Well made regular brand & Gold pins are nice. Keep them Short.
Long Cables loose quality. 1 Meter is default.

Your LCD TV should have more than one HDMI port for inputting & outputting media (sound & video)

HDMI can be used for INPUT or OUTPUT
Eg OUT to an Amplifier or IN from a device like DVD Player.

On the OLDer equipment you will Have a YELLOW connector. That is used for the Video signal.
The RED is RIGHT AUDIO.
The WHITE is LEFT AUDIO.
Fiber OPTIC cables are a better way to transfer AUDIO than the red & white cables. Cleaner.
But this only works if the 2 devices have an optical port available.

Some New Amplifiers are smart and may require you to select the optical port in the settings instead of the default HDMI.
This may also apply to HDMI Port Choice.
Simply plug the HDMI in first & check.
Use a known source e.g. play a DVD or CD or Radio Reveiver as a signal.
ONE HDMI Port on the TV might be an OUTPUT ONLY channel (PORT) to an External Amplifier (if you wish to use one)

HDMI on external devices will be Outputing video & sound on their HDMI Port
To the INPUT HDMI PORTS on the TV.

Some TV's will fall back to a particular HDMI port on power fail or startup therefore not requiring you to use the remote every time.

External SPEAKERS should have the polarity checked. Eg Red (or marked wire) to the same post on either speaker. This makes sure that the speakers travel forward together at the same time. Pumping sound forward then retracting together....
so they are not fighting against each other.
.......This is called out of phase & distorts sound.

Hope this Helps

Enjoy Your New Entertainment

.......Then give me a tick of approval for my trouble....

Cheers

How to plug my external speakers to my viera tv

This television only outputs digital audio called PCM / Dolby Digital, Fiber Optic so you may need an amplifier that has a digital in port (if the speakers are rca red and white cable plugs then the amplifier needs rca output ports). Then you would need to connect the amplifier to the speakers
. Unless the speakers have a digital in port which I am unsure on ,. The digital out audio port on your tv uses a fibre optic digital audio cable..
page 13 of the user manual shows this digital output port.

How do I get audio out of 32lc2d to go to the external surround sound system

Depends on your external sound system... If it supports HDMI, then just connect an HDMI lead between the TV and the external amp. If you don't have HDMI, look for two RCA/Phono connectors (small circular connectors) on the back of the TV (should be coloured red & white) and connect these to the external sound system. Finally, if you don't have either of these look for a 32 pin scart socket (rectangular with a bit sticking out) and get a scart to phone cable. Plug the scart plug into the TV and connect the Red & White output leads to your external system - hope that helps :-)

How do I hook up my Apple TV to onyko 8050 receiver?

Hi Barry
AppleTV has 2 Outputs on the back. One is Optical for Audio Only and requires a Toslink fibre optic cable to get the good quality audio into the 8050 receiver via the Game 1 Port.
The second connector is HDMI which is a compact low profile cable which transfers both HD1080 Video and Left & Right Audio to another device.
The built in WiFi should be picking up your Router WiFi in the house and transferring iTunes music to these Ports. Just play a song on iTunes on your computer & click the icon to select AirPlay on your ATV.
There are a heap of HD TV's and Amp's etc using HDMI these days.
It's the simplest way to get connected & its the best quality.
Unfortunately the Onyko 8050 uses a proprietary port which is not directly compatible.
I noticed all the Video Ports on the back of the Onyko are the old fashioned Yellow RCA connectors. (Called Composite Video.)
There are converter boxes & cables of various sorts that you could use on eBay, Amazon etc.

NOTES:
Many modern Amplifiers also become the main SwitchBox to transfer Video & Audio from one device to another. eg. My Pioneer VSX-922 has 5 HDMI input ports and 1 HDMI output port along with an assortment of RGB & Toslink Inputs & Outputs.
This way (via remote control) I can choose the Apple TV to Connect to the Plasma HD TV or The DVD Player to play Video or Audio to the Speakers. HDMI Makes the cabling so much easier.

For Future reference, when checking out new HiFi gear, always check the ports on the back of the unit.
Your Ports/Cables go by age.
1: Yellow-Composite Video RCA Plug (oldest)
2: Red & White RCA Plug (Audio Left & Right)
3: S-Video-Mini Din Connector (Video Only)
4: RGB- Component Video (Red,Green,Blue-Video Only)
5: DVI- Digital Video Interface (HiDef Video Only)
6: Toslink- Fiber Optic (Audio Only)
7. HDMI-High Definition Media Interface (HD Video & Audio)

I have an older onkyo 1994 or 1995 receiver dolby pro logic with the amplifier and 6 disk changer wnd the system is clear as could be in cd mode. my problem is Ihave my xbox hooked up to the tv with hdmi...

No no no!
# 1. You need to connect all your components to your TV via an HDMI cable. For true HD and digital sound this is needed. Your TV (if its an HD TV) should have 3 or 4 HDMI inputs. So your Xbox/PS3 should be connected via HDMI cable. Your HD sat or cable box should also be connected with an HDMI cable. Same for your Blu Ray player.

#2. Now that your components are connect in a way which will enable you to see their media in either 720p, 1080i or 1080p your ready to get the Digital sound to your speakers. On the back of your TV you should (again on most all HD tv's) have a digital audio (optical) out. You need to purchase a digital (optical) audio cable and plug one end into your tv's digital audio out jack. Then plug the other end into your audio receivers digital audio in jack. You may have to go into your receivers menu to select or enable the digital/optical input. Then you should be rocking and rolling with true digital DTS, Pro Logic, Pro Logic 2 in either 5.1 or 7.1...

Think of your TV as the hub. Connect all the components with HDMI cables. And then your TV to your receiver with a digital/optical cable. It's that simple.

Never never use the red and white cables for audio. They were designed for 2 channel stereo sound. They won't deliver 5.1 or 7.1 digital sound.

Also... Don't ever hook up any component using the old "yellow" video cable if you want picture quality better than 480i resolution. They won't do HD period.

Here is a list of the popular video cables and they highest resolution.

Yellow video cables - 480i resolution

S video (super video) cable - 480p

Component video cables (red/blue/green) - up to 720p

HIgh definition multimedia interface HDMI - up to 1080p (full HD) and digital sound.

Hope this helps...

How to add an Exterior Speaker to Sony KV-13M10

Welcome to FixYa!

To add an exterior speaker to Sony KV-13M10, you have to have an AMPLIFIER.
  • At the back of your TV you will be able to see 3 RCA output namely = VHF/UHF, Audio and Video.
  • Use an RCA cable and connect to the Audio output.
  • At the back of your amplifier, connect the other end of the RCA cable to an RCA input labeled Audio - L (left, usually in white color).
  • Your speaker should be connected to your amplifier labeled output or audio out. The connection type depends on the make and model of your amplifier. The speaker wires usually come in red and black color. red goes to red, black goes to white.

A simple diagram will look like this:

TV audio out -------------> amplifier audio in (left, white color) amplifier audio out (left, white color) -----------> speaker (black wire) amplifier audio out (right, red color) ------------> speaker (red wire)

Thank you for using FixYa.
Have a great day.

How do I connect external speakers

    Connecting Full-Size Speakers
  1. Step 1 Insert the red and white plugs on a set of RCA audio cables into the right and left audio "OUT" jacks on the back of the TV.
  2. Step 2 Connect the other ends of the cables to a free pair of audio "IN" jacks on the amplifier.
  3. Step 3 Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the speaker wires, and connect a pair of wires to the left and right terminals on the back of each speaker using the red wire for the right audio connection and the other wire for the left.

  5. Step 5 Set the amplifier selector to the set of audio jacks connected to the TV to enjoy stereo sound from the television.
  6. Connecting Self-Powered Speakers
  7. Step 1 Insert the RCA plugs on the Y adapter into the TV's Audio "OUT" jacks.
  8. Step 2 Connect the mini-plug on the wire attached to the right-hand self-powered speaker to the mini-plug jack on the Y adapter.

Connecting RCA plug to speaker wires

You can connect the RCA plugs to the speakers. But, as for using the red/white Audio outputs you may need an amplifier, those connections are used when going into a dvd or vcr that boosts the signal in their own environment. If you have a connection for headphones on the TV you might have better luck there for the speakers.
