Configuring NetGear N750 for Seperate Network

I recommend separate channels and different SSIDs for each router. Connect each device to each router you wish. Same channels with same SSIDs will create interference, your devices will not know which router to connect. Set up each router with a unique SSID and if you need a device to connect to both routers, ensure it connect to only one at a time.

How do I log into my D Link wireless router?
  • Open up a Web browser.
  • Type the address "http://192.168.0.1" or "http://dlinkrouter" (omit the quotes) into the browser's address bar, and then press "Enter."

Can't figure out the ssid number on my router

Just log into your router if you need to know it's IP address. Go to the command prompt type ipconfig /all then look for the Gateway IP address input that into your web browser and then hit enter. Go to the Network Settings page and you will see you SSID and password.

If you can't remember your password reset your router back to it's factory settings by holding the reset button for about 5 seconds. For your model/brand of router the default IP address is 192.168.2.1 The default password is "admin" Once you are connected to your router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be your phone number for example 3109876543.

Hi i currently have a Linksys WAG325N wireless router i am unable to connect my kindle wireless reason can be that is N type router and not b or g although network mode is set to mix on router settings. ...

Your router can also be configured for a B or G operation, and may have the option of a second SSID (network name) for the B and G bandwidths. Check the manual for how to set up a second SSID for B/G operation.

From I read online need to reset my belkin router. How doi reset my belkin router so I can use my laptop. The model number is F5D7234-4-BC v1

In the back of every router there is a little hole that is used to reset it. Sometimes is just colored different and some times it says reset next to it. It would be the only one. Just use a pen or paper clip and push in gently so the little rubber depressor does not break and hold it in for 30 seconds(make sure you do 30 sec on a watch nut quick counting). Router needs to be ON when doing reset. Once reset is done you might have to disconnect power to it for another 30 seconds but only if your internet is not working. Hope this helps.

I formatted my hard drive and can't connect wirelessly.

Hi,

If you've lost your ssid, then the best way to connect is to reset the router. That linksys router has a reset button on the back of it. Hold in for about 10 seconds, and it will reset it back to the factory defaults. Then login to it and reset your ssid.

Good Luck

I have an acer aspire 5735, when i try to connect to the internet it brings up an error and tells me i am tring to establish a second broadband connection. this has only started a couple of days ago but i...

........."Scenario: your neighbor is puzzled that his broadband performance is slow.He gets an expert like you to come and check whether his system is working properly. He is told "there's your problem - the people next door are using your connection and they seem to be downloading stuff using Kazaa and Limewire all day and all night. . the problem with that is if the two of you have the same brand of router (say Netgear), with default settings, then it won't know which is your "NETGEAR" network, and which is their "NETGEAR" network. That is why (apart from a little added security) I say to change the SSID."
"All wireless routers I am aware of have the facility to change the SSID (it usually defaults to something like "NETGEAR", or "3COM").But it is still a good idea to secure your own network - and change the SSID. If you don't change the SSID, then any neighbours with the same brand of router will have the same SSID, and your laptops won't usually know which one they are accessing. And setting the router to not broadcast the SSID is good too. But it is still a good idea to secure your own network - and change the SSID.

You need to check if the SSID in enabled in the the settings To do this you have to type in the default IP address of the router 10.1.1.1 in your address bar then type the user name and password normaly "admin and admin" go to the wireless section and check to see if the SSID is set to enabled

Ssid network

The SSID setting is part of the DLink wireless setting.
To configure the DLInk wireless/router from new, you may need to connect the DLink wireless/router the laptop with a 10baseT cable, then open your browser and enter the URL address http:/192.168.0.1 The default login = admin, no password required. Unless you have previously altered the default settings.
You should configure the DLink wireless with a different SSID from the default one and set it up with encryption preferrably WAP.
You should also setup a password for the admin login, so to prevent someone from hacking into your wireless/router to change your settings and steal your Internet access.
You would need to setup the wireless card in the laptop to have the same wireless/router settings eg. SSID and encryption.
You can now remove the LAN cable and connect to the Internet by wireless.
All this information is in your manual.

Can't connect online

Hi,

1. check your physical connection. modem should be connected to the internet port of the router. wired pc to any lan ports (ports1-4)
2. make sure that the distance of the wireless router and wireless pc is not very far
3. if you know the wireless configuration of your router proceed with number 4, if not see my note below.
4. right click the wireless icon on the pc, choose 'view available wireless network' or connect to a network.
5. check if your SSID is showing. If it is showing and it says secured, click on it and enter your encryption (either WPA or WEP or WPA2).
6. if SSID is not showing, go to the router configuration page and change your channel. play around with your channel until your non working pc sees the SSID.

note(checking router configuration): on the wired pc, open internet explorer browser, type http://192.168.0.1 (default username is admin & password is password or 1234) Note: if you changed your ip address or password on the router, use that.
