Do DLL files get corrupted by playing games?

No... dll's usually get corrupted by viruses or malware. Unfortunately, if you are talking about online games though, they tend to be targeted by those same virus and malware creators thereby indirectly the games might be the cause of the corruption. For example, the Facebook games websites are constantly being targeted by virus and malware makers and we literally see hundreds of people from there every week that have serious infestations which cause problems like corruped dll's. Just arm yourself with an arsenal of FREE anti-malware programs and a good anti-virus program and you will be ok.

Disk may be dirty or scratched. Or at some point the unit may have been turned off while it was saving game data, causing the data to be corrupt. Also possibility that you'll need to run a laser lens cleaner in the unit.
