KitchenAid dryer stop start issue

KitchenAid dryer model KEYE677BWH2 was working fine. Then started where part way through the cycle, buzzer would sound, dryer would stop and then almost immediately restart. This would go on repeatedly until I stopped it. Then after a week of this behavior, it wouldn't start at all unless I fooled with the timer and would be OK for a bit. Now it will not run at all. Checked thermal fuse and both thermostats and all show continuity. What next?

SOURCE: 196 degree non resettable thermal fuse

That is the thermal fuse. It must read closed for the dryer to work. You can connect the two wires together to check the rest of the system, but don't run it with them crossed for normal drying. Many times this is an indication that the high limit switch is sticking or the duct is clogged with lint causing a high temp situation.
Post back if you have any questions.

SOURCE: Timer runs continuously - Does not stop at all

There should be a timer motor on the timer. That is most likely burnt out and will cause the timer to not shut down. Just replace the timer and that will solve the problem

Replace the thermal fuse and the high limit switch.
They come as a set.
Clean the auto dry sensor with rubbing alcohol.

SOURCE: When I press the start button, the dryer does not run

Is this a colipso dryer, I think that is how you spell it? If so then yes it very well could be a control board.

I have a Maytag dryer (Model MDE2600)and the buzzer will not go off unless the door is opened. Buzzer begins when door is closed.

Hi

Buzzer comes on because the control senses that the door is not closed and won't start the cycle. This issue is caused by door switch-latch assembly (part#6 and part#9 in this diagram) that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The dryer starts up automatically without having to press the start button. will not turn off at the end of cycle, buzzer does not stop, only at the end of one of the 4 cycles.

you have a door switch that is bad, the circut is close so the dryer thinks that the door is still closed. replace your door switch. let me know the model and i will help you through that.

Buzzer won't go off when dryer is stopped - All else works fine - must leave door open

Fiddled around with the start button. It had gotten stuck in the on position and when I moved it around it freed up. I consider this a temporary fix only and have already ordered a replacement switch.

Kenmore Series 70 Dryer Buzzer won't stop buzzing - Model 110.96573220

  • the buzzer is located under the control panel.
  • you can unplug it.
  • unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off first
  • then take out the 2 screws on both sides of the control panel
  • bull it forward toward you and unhook it from the case
  • you should see the buzzer with two wires going to it
  • only need to disconnect one.
  •  just make sure you wrap the bare wire connector with electrical tape to keep it from touching metal.

Sounds like the push to start switch has gone bad. Not to expensive to fix, and pretty easy to do as well. You can remove the rear of the console, remove the push to start switch (lift the tab, then turn to unlock) and replace. Be sure to mark your wires so they go back in the right order. Jim
