AF points with the spot metering stuck in one place

The spots for auto focus points will not adjust to any other place except the far right spot so when I try to use the auto focus it only locks on the right side, if I try to use the center spot it is out of focus. can yo tell me what I can do to fix this. I have tried to use the top dial to move it, it only look like it will select the center spot but when I try to use it, it is still in the same place.
